Okay, so if I have it right: Kylessa and Sanitor are getting into position on opposite sides of the crown to do some casting... With Tommy as back up with a bucket of flaming alcohol.

Zeppo is sneaking in closer to the platform to try a sneak attack, presumably against Oll Zen himself (but do correct me if I'm wrong there).

I assume Brun is basically standing by (with Kylessa?) to also administer some muscle when things go kattywompus.

That about the size of it...?

I am realizing I forgot to mention there is a large table near the platform, by the wall. Looks like a reception/banquet set up. On the opposite side, there is a small dais or plinth or something along those lines. But they're further into the room, so hopefully don't complicate your plans.

Zeppo is definitely planning a sneak attack once Oll Zen is distracted.

Spells-wise I had selected darkness, paralysis, resist cold or heat, and second sight, because they seemed largely thematic but I can roll randomly for the last two of you'd like. The grimoire spell is being held to see how this all plays out.

Kylessa feels the power well up within her from an unknown source and directs it at the bad man holding Other Molly, just as Mara told her to. She holds Mara in her outstretched right hand, signing the ancient gestures with her left. A blue, seven-pointed star appears on her forehead for an instant and a black ray shoots forth from its center as she intones in a voice bigger than her small frame should support,
Kylessa: "RELEASE MOLLY! DEFEND HER FROM THAT WICKED MAN!" Charm Person spellcheck(+2)=17
Brun, taken aback by this unforetold supernatural display, can only draw his sword and stand in her defense.

As soon as Oll Zen's attention is turned, Zeppo scrambles up the platform and stabs the wizard in the back with his filleting knife. The following assumes a successful backstab. To hit: 13 (will burn a luck point (rolled a 3 with luck die for 16 to hit) if necessary), dmg 5 plus crit: rolled a 3 on my table, clean strike to back (+2d6)= additional 7 for total 12 damage.

Sanitor invokes the powers of the Vision That Would Freeze a Man's Heart, who's servant he is, and prays for the power of paralysis (spellcheck 14). His hands and battleaxe are charged with energy (for the next 4 rounds) and he moves closer to the platform.

Thomas is ready to do his part to create havoc. He heaves the flaming booze, bucket and all, in a tall arc, attempting to land it in the center of the gathering of acolytes. 9+(deed die 1)=10 on the attack roll.

The man holding Other Molly shudders as if hearing something that sent a chill up his spine -- and shakes off the effect! He continues to press her to say her words...

The words slip from Other Molly's mouth, as if she's using every bit of strength to hold them back. But she's obviously been drugged in some way, and her will is weak! "I do," she murmurs.

The man lets go of her and turns and leaps off the platform, running toward the banquet table.

Zeppo swings up onto the platform as Oll Zen hears Other Molly speak the words.

Oll Zen laughs hysterically as she says them and once she's done he is out of his flipping gourd: "Jahahajajajhaha! Now! Now for the BOON! 800 years of youthful LIFE!!" He whips out a wicked knife, pointing to one of his bodyguards to pick up your friend's slumping form. At that moment, Zeppo presses his luck and stabs the sorcerer! The fire in his eye sockets shoots forward, as if someone turned up the gas for a moment.

Zeppo feels the handle of the knife shift in ways it shouldn't while it is in the flesh of the magician.

Oll Zen shouts to his followers, "You, fools! These are our enemies, walking among you! They would undo all that YOU have worked for! KILL THEM! Jahahahahajahahahaa!" Figures dotted in among the supplicants, stand groggily, as if awakening from a sleep and move toward Kylessa and Brun, and Santior and Tommy. They begin with a shambling gait, but gain speed and wakefulness with each step.

Tommy flings the contents of the bucket, splashing several be-robed figures in the center, who now have small flames licking at their robes.


___ROUND ONE___

Oll Zen turns and raises the index finger of the hand holding the dagger at Zeppo! Hitting a 21! Damage of 3 as a purple arc of electricity joins the two of you for a flash. He then leaps from the platform and straight to the dais or block -- no, wait, IT'S A SACRIFICIAL ALTAR!!

While one guard moves to fetch Other Molly, the second one also strikes at Zeppo with a filleting knife: Hitting a 14 for 3 points of damage!

The man with the sword who lept off the platform dips his head to the banqueting table. When he raises it again, it is swollen to a grotesque size and shape, like it has become a huge balloon. Like a fire hose, he spits a jet of beer (hey, it's still St. Patrick's day here in CA) at Brun across the room! Hitting a 21! for, well, 1 point of damage. But that's a glancing blow, I assure you...

Other Molly is removed from the platform as well, though the guard does not get her as far as the altar.

The awakened minions of Oll Zen, reach those of you at the sides of the crowd.

Only 1 reaches Sanitor and Tommy this round.

But 4! reach Kylessa and Brun!

They have an initiative behind all of you, though, so let's hear what you five do now...

Thomas attempts to bulldoze his way past the one acolyte that is in melee range to get to the guard who has Other Molly. He clotheslines the robed figure.
Attack+3 (deed die)=20, damage (rolled a d3 like I would for fists) 2+3(deed die)=5
If that gets him in melee range of the guard holding Other Molly, he tries to block the path or if the successful deed roll gives him the opportunity, he finishes the charge at the guard with a swipe of the long sword 7+3=10

Brun swings his longsword with new-found determination at any who threaten Kylessa and shouts,
Brun: "Kylessa! Bring him down! End him!" att(NAT 19+4)=23, crit=1, dmg(+4)=6
She pours into her casting from deep reserves, willing the wizard's death at great cost to herself. She swears an oath to "Mara" in return for "her" help...and then the meteors start to rain down!
Magic Missile spell check(+2+10spellburn)=19 (any/all missiles will be directed at Oll Zen, any remaining should he miraculously perish will be directed to the next nearest threat)

I wish I did. At least you're dealing damage and not losing the spell for a day! Is the mercurial effect anything fun?

Brun and Tommy each bring down a 'cult member' like they are just so much wet paper mache.

Tommy can get most of the way to the guard, and have to hope to beat him on initiative next round...

Kylessa's 19 spellcheck gives her 1d4 missiles, which can be aimed at a single target (Oll Zen) and each do 1d4+1 damage -- I'll let you roll that, unless you'd rather I do it.

NOTE: I"ll point out that Brun and Kylessa both have a move action possible, if they want to use it to change where they are in the room. It's like 30-ish feet to where the platform is and all that.

Zeppo goes down hard (with only a measly 4 hp) following the quick succession of electrocution and stabbing.

Sanitor: "well this went sideways fast!" He pursues after the man holding Other Molly, (can I reach him?)
IF Sanitor can reach the guard holding Other Molly, then Sanitor will chop with his paralysis charged battleaxe into the man's back. To hit: 14+1... 15, damage: 7+1...8 damage plus DC 14 Will save or paralysis for 2+1... 3 rounds.
OR
IF it looks like Sanitor won't be able to catch up to him, then he'll yell, "Get Other Molly!" to Thomas, and head to the fallen Zeppo to attempt to Lay on Hands. (Don't know if I can reach him and do it in the same round?)

IF Sanitor can reach the guard holding Other Molly, then Sanitor will chop with his paralysis charged battleaxe into the man's back. To hit: 14+1... 15, damage: 7+1...8 damage plus DC 14 Will save or paralysis for 2+1... 3 rounds.

I see that Sanitor had previously made to move up -- which means I am probably wrong about Tommy -- BOTH OF YOU can reach the guard. As it turns out, Sanitor chops the man down, leaving Tommy to grab Other Molly and keep her from hitting the floor hard. I'm calling these actions, because we're short on time; hopefully no feathers are ruffled.

Zeppo being 1st level can be saved next round with a successful Laying on of Hands, should you choose to do so.

Certainly in no more than a couple of hours (probably less), I'll roll a result and we'll see what happens and move forward. It's just, since it's Oll Zen himself, we should probably know what happens there before going on, and I dislike removing what players' might find fun... ("I killed him!" or "I didn't kill him!!")

Okay, let's do the result of the Magic Missile spell and see if Oll Zen is dead...

1d4 missiles: 4!

Rolling 4d4+4 = 10 damage

Oll Zen is STILL ACTIVE!

Tommy gets Other Molly to mutter a few sounds. She's clearly been drugged by something.

Oll Zen is loosing his mind that you have his bride! "That girl will change everything!" He shouts, as if it's obvious what he means.

He stands wide and points to electrocute Tommy -- Initiative 25! The man is clearly sped along by supernatural forces!

He hits a 17 for 4 points of damage!

The remaining guard from the platform jumps down to stab at Sanitor!

Attack hits an 11 doing 1 pt of damage.

The dude with the bloated head by the banquet table lets loose a jet of beer at Kylessa!

Attack hits a 19! doing 4 pts of damage!

Oll Zen flees behind the giant dragon art...

Could Thomas reach where Oll Zen hid in this round? Also, what type of artwork are we talking about, statuary, tapestry, painting on canvas?

The guard's attack on Sanitor misses as he runs past to Zeppo and attempts to call on the Great and Terrible Spectacle to bring life and vitality back into his comrade. "Receive the Vision, lad. Receive it." Spellcheck roll 2+2... 4.
Even if the Infernal Vision reached out to save Zeppo's life, it would appear Zeppo rejected the attendant view of Things To Come. He goes still as if dead.

Sanitor: "Thomas! Let's get Other Molly out of here!"

The dragon is a big relief sculpture, more or less mounted on the wall, but projecting out from it. Oll Zen has ducked behind a bit of curving dragon body and it is absolutely possible for Tommy to follow him...

Based on events and translated into game-ese: if Tommy makes a single move, he'd more or less reach Oll Zen's position (unsure of what's behind there), if Zen hasn't moved out beyond the bit of dragon (say, into an escape hall or chute or whatever-might-be-back-there...).

N.B.: Sanitor's chance of disapproval now becomes a natural 1 or 2, based on the missed LoH.

"Sanitor, take Other Molly!" Thomas makes a dash for the sculpture to get a shot at taking down the wizard. In his right arm he readies the javelin. "Lala, help me!" He throws the javelin as soon as he can see Oll Zen, whether it's just behind the statue or down some escape tunnel. If he cannot see but hear the wizard (say if it's too dark), his declared deed is a blind strike, going off of sound alone. If the blind strike isn't necessary, he'll stack the deed die into a vital shot for extra damage.

To hit+3!(deed die)=17, damage 3+3=6. He'll burn any luck necessary on to hit and damage to bring the wizard down.
