Nod, that's fine, but he's going to be really dead here in a few rounds... unless someone heals him.
I am fresh out of Clerics...

Could Chendriss do something to simply stabilize him? As an alchemist, he may know something about blood and/or blood flow, staunching wounds, etc.

 Nope, sorry. Without healing, he'll be very dead in a few rounds.

Fosco Sword 23 (Avg: 23.0)=23; Damage = 3
that's a critical - roll on the appropriate table for halfling...

Rolled a 2 on the crit chart.

Foes weapon hand is damaged and +1d12 damage
Extra damage=3

Okay so the dwarf and halfling slay the bear-bug in the hallway and there's one left in the egg room. Chendris is fiddling with the unconscious, and dying, body of the man who dared to call himself Timor the Invincible.

The ghost wails... a keening, screeching noise, hollow and flat and rising in pitch until it hurts your ears and makes all the hair on the back of your necks stand straight up. Then it waves an arm and the rod that Timor used to beat on Flavia flies through the air and smacks into Abraham! To hit: 11, 1 damage from the impact, but there's another explosive blast and he takes another 3 damage from the fire, and must make a Reflex save, DC 10, to avoid catching on fire.

(Sorry RC, your characters have the worst Luck...)

Sexton Abraham needs no save......he burns to a charred crisp, joining Jack and Chalmers in the Realms of the Dead.

ooc...Who has the magic black sword? If no one has it and it is near to Thorin he grabs it.

Thorin hears the yell of the ghost and sees it move a rod and stike a memebr of the party."I feel that ghost can only be done away with by using that black sword! The rest of our weapons will be useless against it." He looks around for healing types and yells more."Any clerics here? Maybe you can turn it away from us."

ooc...If no one goes for the rod Fosco will grab it and us it to attack the ghost.

Again, Fritz has the black blade. And he's not giving it up without making a DC 18 Will save, chuckle.

The rod is floating in the air (!) over the body of Abraham, which lies smoldering on the floor. Will Fosco attempt to grab it out of the air?

Fritz rolls his save: 12+1=13

He changes targets and tries to slash the ghost thingy with the black sword. Attack roll=7. If it is possible to backstabbing it he will try, not sure which way it is facing.

Portly heads to the fallen man. He hesitates as he could try to heal him but as he is likely of an opposed alignment that would increase his disfavor. You guys sure you want him alive?

Fritz has some difficulty with the lightness of the blade and whiffs the ghostly figure badly. It doesn't seem to notice him, but he doubts a "backstab" would be possible. (You only need to make that save to try to give the sword to someone else... it has something of a hold on your psyche, you see.)

Portly Trim, Allah the Greatest would probably frown upon you healing one so vile, who lives among the unclean corpses and evil bug creatures in this place. But you must choose your own fate...

Portly tries to turn the ghost while he ciphers on that.

Roll(1d20)+1: 20,+1 Total:21

Fritz was making the Reflex save you asked for last page, he has no intention of giving up the sword just yet!

/ooc still on my second round of actions I guess?

Bypeld and Orastes move into the room with the still living bug man.

Bypeld swings at it.

Rolling 1d24 + 1
( 7 ) + 1 = 8

DMG
Rolling 1d8 + 1
( 1 ) + 1 = 2

Orastes swings at it with his shovel

Rolling 1d24 - 1
( 12 ) - 2 = 10

DMG
Rolling 1d4 - 2
( 4 ) - 2 = 2

Tonunt covers her ears at the sound of the ghost. She then pulls the cork on her vial and attempts to splash it all over the ghost.

/occ Roll an agility check?

Holy Water=
Rolling 1d20 + 1
( 10 ) + 1 = 11

Oh right, woops. Ok, so nevermind, he saved...

Portly Trim invokes the Great Spirit: "Allahu akbar!" The ghost rolls a will save, 12 + 6 = 18, so it fails. It, and the rod, fly down the stairs with a howl.

Tonunt misses it with her holy water, but she still has a few drops left inside to try again in the future, if she sees the ghost again.

Inside the other room with the still unconscious bear-bug, Bypeld and Orastes clang their weapons clumsily off the things chitinous plates, doing nothing.

It all sort of happened simultaneously, since I lost the thread of the initiatives. C'est la vie, indeed.

Somebody's going to make short work of the bear-bug soon, so let's not worry about that too much. It's dead now.

However, what you do with the dying man, Timor the Invincible, is an open question...

+3 XP to all who participated.

While a few party members are hacking away at the last bug monster and others mending the human wizard's wounds Thorin will search the room that the human was in for a better weapon and whatever else fancies his attention.

Fosco, goes into the egg room. He uncovers the egg(s) and smashes them with his sword. "God, I hate bugs!"

Chendriss searches the man for the key to the snakeskin tome, and anything else he may have on him...

Flavia is stepping about 10 feet to the north, listening and looking to see if anything else is stirring.

Hector is taking care of Darrow's body, placing it in repose, such as it is, to one side (also, mournfully retrieving anything potentially useful).

I think the term 'lifeless body' had me thinking I was down to three...

Rolling under Luck on a d20: got a 10 vs a Luck of 12!

Darrow groggily asks Hector why the Dwarf is taking his stuff...

Hector just about jumps out of his skin(!).

Rudra be praised! Darrow lives! Now roll a d3 and subtract one from Str, Agi, or Sta.

Chendris doesn't find a key on the man.

Thorin finds a well furnished bedroom... large bed, padded chair, footlocker, wardrobe, four drawer chest, and a portrait hanging over the bed (poorly painted, of the man).

Stamina -- which hurts the most, since it drops to 8, meaning 2 hp off his maximum, and a loss on Fort Saves -- Ouch!

He's not the man he used to be... a bit of grey hair will develop at his temples over the next few days...

They're pretty large, and have a thick, leathery shell. It takes him a while just to chop one. There's 30... well, 29 left. Inside the one he chopped was some sort of insect larva, grub-like creature.

Cathbad will help Fosco with her club. Even if they cannot be slashed easily, if the insides are pulped, that should do.

Hector, too, starts smashing eggs, needing something to distract him from the 'risen' Darrow... "I bet that black sword would make quick work of these..."

Flavia still stands at the ready to the north.

Chendriss investigates anything unexplored in the room where the man was.

Darrow can attempt to Lay on Hands on the man, unless another so enabled offers to do so. "We need some answers, and he has them."

The last part is critical. Portly Trim is expressing some reluctance. But Darrow is still pretty woozy. ... may have to burn some Luck... maybe Fosco would help? Hmm!

Once we sort out this, I can tell you how Chendris found ALL THE SEKRITS....
