Bypeld stiffens for a second. Hearing the bug scream help, Bypeld shouts, "Stand down!"

Nonetheless he lashes out poorly at the bug-man next to him.

Rolling 1d20 + 1
( 4 ) + 1 = 5

A swing and a miss.

Tonunt curses and attempts to throw her dagger at the man her superstition against magic drawing her attention.

Rolling 1d20 + 1
( 17 ) + 1 = 18

dmg = 1d4-2= 2-2=1

/ooc oops cut and pasted the wrong attack roll. let me know if I need to adjust for cover

Orastes prances in place not knowing what to do. Impulsively he pulls out his hand mirror and holds it over Bypeld's shoulder.

Pointing the mirror at the Bug-man he screams "Back! Back to hell with you abomination!"

The room is kind of long and narrow, and there's an open window on the far (south) side. It's completely bare, so far as you can tell from here (without going inside and looking around the corner, it's not square, it has a sort of hallway part on this side, to account for the stairs that you just came up).
Thorin will lite up his last burning flask of oil and he will toss it into the room and at the human figure. If not able to do this than he toss it into the room with those funky eggs :)

Fosco will just stand and wait till he can replace any fallen party members.

That's a long way to throw a burning flask, just so you know. It's probably 40-50 feet total, or more, to the man. And there's an active melee combat in front of that, so... better not roll a 1. :-)

But anyway you need to roll a d20, declare a deed if you want, etc.

The dagger grazes the man's cheek, leaving a large thin line of blood than begins to drip down his face. His expression changes to one of anger.

The bear-bug doesn't appear to be frightened by either the mirror or Bypeld's sword (or staff?), although it's difficult to tell since their anatomy is so alien.

Flavia, with a startling, previously-unheard battle yell, swings her sword in a huge arc at the creature, attempting to slice through all it's legs (or at least knock it prone): 14(d20)+3(d3) = 17, with 2 damage.

Chendriss casts Color Spray: 20 total spell check, can affect three targets, one for the man first of all, one each for the two bear-bugs (closest first) -- targets with 2 HD or less are automatically affected. Those with more than 2 HD make two Will saves: failing one, target is blinded; failing both, target is blinded and unconscious. These effects last 7 rounds (unless you want a different roll for each target, in which case the bugs are 9 rounds and 6 rounds). Sightless creatures are immune.

Also, there are now four additional Chendirss's, and it's not possible to tell which is the original. Each is slightly different, but by the time anyone starts to puzzle out which is the 'real' Chendriss, the others fade away (1 round effect).

Hey, sorry, I screwed up - because this is long range, you're at -1d so roll a d16 to attack instead.

Sorry... it IS a long way to throw a bomb by hand. Maybe if he had a grenade launcher...

The flaming flask of oil shatters harmlessly against the door frame, narrowly missing the bear-bug, which was just unceremoniously dumped on its back by a roaring Flavia (!) ... legs akimbo and everything. The fire burns brightly and consumes the oil quickly.

Anyone else want to act before next round?

Jack: Lies dead in a puddle of his own blood, and excrement.

Sexton Abraham: Attacks the nearest bear-bug with his shovel, but rolls a 5.

Cathbad: Muttering a quick prayer to any who might be listening, throws her dagger at the spellcaster, but rolls a 3. If anyone is in melee with him at that time, her second roll is a 5.
SoBH pbp:

Cathbad the Meek (herbalist Wizard 1): AC 9; 4 hp; S 7, A 7, St 10, P 17, I 13, L 8; Neutral; Club, herbs, 50' rope, 50 cp; -1 to melee attack rolls. Hideous scar.

Yeah yeah yeah. :P

Sigh. Here goes. They're 2HD but I'm giving them saves because they have a bunch of eyes and, arguably, might be somewhat resistant to total blindness in the visible light spectrum. Still, the save DC is 20:

First (tripped) one: 13, blinded, 6, unconscious for 9 rounds.
Second one: 7, blinded, 17, unconscious for 6 rounds.

Init: 12.

Cathbad: If she can do it, she will try to get to Jack's sword. If that seems completely unreasonable, she will cower and yell for someone else to "Grab the black blade!"

Sexton Abraham: Once more with the shovel. Should a 12 hit, he does 2 points of damage (3-1).

I just do initiative once, and then go in order. It's easier, IMO.

Anyone wanting to strike the unconscious buggers may do so, roll a d24 when so-doing, however, as they are prone. Still, it may take a few whacks to kill them off.

Inside the room, the man charges out, striking out at Flavia with the rod he holds in his hand. 18! + 2 = 20, a hit. He hollers "Iak! CthuggHA!" as it connects, and there's a jolt and spark of power from the rod. 2 physical damage, 7 from the explosion/fire... roll a Reflex save, DC 10, to avoid catching on fire. "You'll never defeat Timor the Invincible!" he roars, an unholy rage in his eyes.

At the same time, the party is extremely disconcerted to notice a ghostly form rise up through the floor of the stairs and ascend to the top, standing among you, its pale luminescence glowing slightly, a form indistinct and gossamer yet with occasional wispy suggestions of a humanoid form cloaked or robed ...

Thorin yells out some crazy ass Dwarven battle cry and attacks the human. He pushes the those in his way out of his way. Than jumps on Jack's lifeless back and flies in the air to slam his shield into the wizards arm. Smashing it and causing him to drop the rod.

With his pick ax he slams it into the man with all his force.

Shield attack... 13+1+3=17. Mighty Deed pulls through. Shield damage...2+1+3=6
Pick attack...16+1+2=19. No Mighty Deed. Damage...2+1=3

total damage=9 & mighty deed works

Fosco, stands there with his mouth wide open and looks at the crazy dwarf.

Portly finds his waty up the stairs and sees the man. He gathers himself and casts Word of Command ordering the man to "grovel."

Rolled 4 +1 (5) Fail - Disapproval! Ah!

Fritz rushes past the group and pounces on Jack's body snatching up the weird black sword he has been eyeing for a while. He works his way into the room looking for a chance to backstab the hopefully dwarf distracted man.

OOC: Map updated, please check for accuracy.
