On Thud and Blunder - An Essay by Poul Anderson

I stumbled upon this essay from Poul Anderson in a recent Reddit "Ask Historians" posting concerning: "Wrong ideas about medieval Europe in medieval fantasy"

Some of his points about medieval fantasy literature vs. reality match up really well with what Goodman writes (no surprises there!) in the book on travel in a medieval society, etc.
