Which brings up an interesting PbP point...

...why are none of us doing DCC play-by-post here?

I mean -- duh! -- it's a forum. Where you can post. And it's all about DCC.

My forehead is bruised over this.

Go ahead and start one, I'm in!

I am tempted.

But the only DCC adventure I have on my mind is one I'd seriously looking at subbing for DunDraCon 37 in February, and since I know there are some people on this forum that intend to attend that con...

I could run it here after that, though. :D

And yes, if you're paying attention, I just outed myself as probably running a DDC game at DCC 37. If scheduling works out, it'll be Friday Noon, called Short Trip To Hell.

It might just be me, but... I can't stand PbP. It is the pace mostly.

I've only just started to dabble with PbP (Thanks for running, RC! :D ), but I'm not opposed to continuing dabbling...

The pace does seem slow, but I'm not sure how much of that is really just me not being up to speed with the style, n'est-ce pas?

HI.

I've done PbP on other forums (TLG, Playing and later Running C&C) and it has its challenges. But it is better than not playing at all.

What I find helps, is having a string of prerolled numbers (e.g. d20: 6,16,5,19,18,1,20, 12...) you don't even know what they'll be for, saves, attacks, whatever. It's also good to allow the Dm some leeway like, "I'll fight until I'm at 5 hp or another orc arrives, if I kill the orc, I listen before looting the body" something like that.

but it's not everyone's cup of tea. It's time consuming to run and slow to make progress. But like any RPG, it can be a hoot also.

I'd love to play. I might be convinced to run.

okay. I want to sandbox and DCCify L1 and L2. Do we need to get a separate forum?

Have never played them, don't own them, and not familiar with their contents at all. Sounds perfect to me.

When you're ready, why not start a thread called "Bone Hill PbP" or somesuch, and begin with stating how many players, character guildelines, whatever else, and we begin rolling...

Did this ever get off the ground? As a future DM for DCC I'd like to actually play it!

Interested in a zero level funnel adventure.

It's ongoing now... if you'd like to join, there's about to be a good opportunity to join. Look at active topics, it's the L1 conversion.

It does make it a little easier, less flipping back through the thread for the DM. Heh.
