Do halflings occur anywhere other than Tolkien, where they are so named by Men? I am looking for inspiration for some halfling options in DCC.
I have in mind several paths for a 0-level halfling, drawn from the extended Tolkien universe. I include the Peter Jackson interpretations, partly for want of other source material.
Halflings, outside of Tolkien?

Willow.
DragonLance Kender are different, more like 3rd edition halflings than Tolkien hobbits.
I'm not very well read in the fantasy genre to know if like Shannara had halflings or not. Don't recall them from Eddings' books.
