I'd like to do a table of mementos, items that someone would save to remember a fallen loved one. Any contributions would be much appreciated and I would be happy to provide a cohesive list once the entries have petered out. Here are a few to get started:

1d30?1d50?
1. A locket
2. Strands of hair
3. Baby teeth
4. A letter
5. Bottle of booze
6.
7.
...

Cool thread idea. Here's a few that came to mind:

6. The broken hilt of a blade (maybe with a partial handprint scorched onto it)
7. A skeletal finger in a jar wearing a signet ring (or a wedding band)
8. A small scrimshaw box with a love letter inside
9. A shrunken head
10. A silver comb with their hair still entwined in the teeth.
11. An embroidered handkerchief bearing their initials and a hint of their scent
12. A map or journal entry written in their own blood.

Thanks to all that contributed. I leveraged these memento ideas for my new DCC RPG character class, the Revenant. I will share the details later after I clean it up.

Little late to the party, but I didn't see these:

Necklace made from the hair of the deceased (real thing we used to do here in the US)
Exciting Underwear from the deceased (even stranger if they wear it too)
Box of Fingernail clippings from the deceased
Character actually wears the broken (and thus, completely ineffective) armor of the deceased
Doorknob to the room of the deceased
Key to the mausoleum of the deceased

Gotta represent the weird and macabre,

David Rose

Numbered the ones from above.
And added these below:

80. A pressed flower in a book.
81. A charcoal sketch of the deceased on parchment in a scroll tube.
82. A fetus in a wax sealed jar.
83. A bent or dented coin, damaged in a historic battle.
84. The severed tongue of the deceased. Blackened and putrid, it still whispers secrets and "sweet nothings" to its possessor.
85. An intricately fashioned wood music box of gnomish make. When the lid is lifted, it plays the favorite song of the deceased.
86. A wool turtle-neck dickey stitched by the deceased.
87. The skinned face of the deceased that the possessor wears as a mask.
88. A quote or personal message from the deceased written on a scrap of paper.
89. A manacle and a bit of chain the deceased was forced to wear.
90. The soiled rag used to clean the body of the deceased before burial.
91. A whip or some other torture device the deceased was forced to endure.
92. Some sort of trophy, or medal, or a letter from the king honoring the deceased.
93. An arrow or spear head.
94. The favorite food of the deceased; preserved and wrapped in linen.
95. A vial or crystal atomizer of cherished perfume.
96. A favored musical instrument.
97. A well-worn pamphlet of poems or sonnets.
98. A frog in a soft leather pouch; hidden in its tiny amphibian mind are all the significant memories of the deceased.
99. A spider in a matchbox; when it spins its web a message from the deceased can be read there.
100. A cricket in an bamboo cricket cage; if one can decipher its chirpings, a prophecy from the deceased can be heard.
