Thief cast spell from scroll intelligence modifier?

Page 36 says a thief does NOT add intelligence or personality modifiers to DC check for casting spells from scrolls. While table 1-9 on page 38 has a footnote says a thief's intelligence modifier modifies checks for this skill?

Seems like it's not too much of an advantage to allow the the bonus.

My page 36 doesn't state that. Perhaps I have a newer edition?

Also -- the errata here states that theives do add their INT modifier.

I would allow it otherwise what use is a D10 when you usually need 12+ ?

I would allow it for any character; not just the Thief for the same reason

Well the distinction would play into the Thief's Luck ability, as written.

At least doing it this way opens the way for the foolish fighter to take the dangerous step of casting from a scroll and that would be a right giggle
