Yeah, I just saw that on a related thread. Maybe we can collaborate on something together as a DCC community to bring a bit of relief, I am just not sure what..

His last post was to the BH Facebook page, that I know of, and he indicated that he would be offline for a while.

The address on the BH website is

Brave Halfling Publishing
1221 S. 14th Street
Herrin, IL 62948

We could take a collection and send flowers, if no one has a better idea. I believe from previous posts of his that his office is a home office.

At a time like this, I know it would mean something to me that people cared enough to do something, even if it can't undo a loss. So, on Sunday, at 9 pm Toronto time, I'm going to send something to John and his family. The card will just be "We sympathize with your loss, and we want you to know that we are here for you. From your friends in the DCC community." Because, really, we are a community. Or we should be.

If you want to contribute, great. I'll be using PayPal, and what I send will be based on what I can afford. You can add to that amount by sending a donation to ravencrowking at hotmail dot com. Your donation will go to sending condolences, and no other purpose. Cut-off time is 8 pm Eastern Daylight Time. Any contribution, small or large, is welcome. There will be no list of contributors, because it is better if it comes from all of us, even those of us living paycheck to paycheck or who don't use paypal.

There. Spread the word. Let's get this done.

Count me in. He could use the support.

So sorry for your loss, John. As a father of 4, I just can't imagine the pain or how to assuage it for you.

We are a community, during the rough patches and during the times of grief. Take care of yourself and family, John. Let us know when you are back to operating speed and if we can help.

I am fairly new to these forums and to DCC in general. I just ran across this thread and I am blown away. I am blown away by the tragedy suffered by the Adamses and blown away by the response of you guys to a fellow gamer in need. As a sincere Christian, I have long heard of the alleged "evils" of our hobby. Heck, I started gaming in 1982, when churches were crying out on the news and from the pulpits about the dangers of our "occult" games. But I can tell you that the responses of several on this forum to the tragedy suffered by the Adams family would make my Savior Jesus smile. Not to get all mushy and preachy on you all, but WELL DONE. You give me hope when everything I hear on the news is depressing and speaks about the moral decline of the world. The fans/friends/family of the DCC RPG have cared for one another in a way that puts many self-proclaimed churches to shame.

OK...end of sermon (I am a seminary grad, after all). Keep those weird dice rolling!
