Purple Sorcerer Games: Crawler's Companion Kickstarter
I promised that if I heard enough positive responses about the need for a tablet/mobile version of the Crawler's Companion, I'd whip together a Kickstarter to see if we could make it happen. Well, I did, so I have.
While I wait for the account stuff to get setup (and since this is my first attempt at putting together such a thing) I thought I'd ask folks to preview it. If you feel so inclined (and/or are excited about getting the Crawler on your tablet) please preview the Kickstarter at:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/475 ... n=efb16ffb
Let me know of any observations you might have. I'm still tweaking a few things, but I think this is close enough for horseshoes and fireballs.
Thanks everyone for your support. This really is a great community.

I love the idea, it greatly speeds up the game. Cant wait for one optimized to Android tablets!
Re: Purple Sorcerer Games: Crawler's Companion Kickstarter
I really like what you have done so far and look forward to seeing it as an actual app.. every one at my table uses iPhones and android devices and having a good app will mean it's a lot more likely that they will give the DCC RPG a proper chance.
will kick starter backers get the chance to test the app? I here a Samsung Galaxy s 2 & a cheap $80 dollar tablet and I am keen it works on both devices

Yes backers will be able to test things as we move forward! On the Android side, the device needs to support Adobe Air, which means Android 2.2 and higher. The Galaxy s 2 is a good candidate for testing: the Adobe site indicates is should work, but we won't really know until we start testing.hawkwind wrote:I really like what you have done so far and look forward to seeing it as an actual app.. every one at my table uses iPhones and android devices and having a good app will mean it's a lot more likely that they will give the DCC RPG a proper chance.

As for your cheap tablet - if it's Android 2.2 or higher, it's a possibility: but it likely only supports Android 2.1. That's pretty common for the wave of inexpensive tablets that arrived last year. (I have one... it's now my sons!) On the plus side, the Crawler's Companion runs very well on both the Kindle Fire and the Nook Color, which are pretty affordable: so hopefully the current/next wave of cheap Android tablets will at least match their specs.

As I was putting the 0-level champion mock-ups together my son wandered by my computer and commented "must... have... t-shirt..." I took it for a good sign.
(He's actually quite the DCC evangelist... he told me last week he talked up the system to the sales dudes at the local GDW shop...)

On the last paragraph, you need to change exiting to exciting, FYI.

Thanks for the heads up Vanguard.

We've updated the welcome video wth some silliness. I think everything is about in place: just waiting on all the setup/approval stuff before turning things loose.
