DCC foil edition durability

Just got my silver foil of the fourth printing in the mail (looks flippin' awesome!) and noticed a few small glittery points on my fingers after handling it a bit. I assume that these are just a bit of factory excess but it got me wondering if the foil might eventually come off. Anyone have experience with GG's foiled books after a few years of use? Should i make a plastic cover for it or am i being a little paranoid?

I have a few foil books that i have never been concerned with.
Just guessing, but i would think that the glitter may be from the gilding if it is a KS edition.
That little bit of bling is a new endeavour along with the thumb tabs consequently being something of an unknown variable.

Unfortunately i wasn't able to hop on that particular kickstarter. Mine is just a pre-order so i don't have the tabs and gilding on the pages. And if you have a few foiled books that aren't giving you any trouble i'm not going to worry about it. Like i said, i think its just a bit of factory excess that will wear off after a bit. Thank you for the input.
