Purple Planet encounters?
I'm running Perils of the Purple Planet, and I want to know how many encounters everybody has happen? My players are barely making through 10 hexes a night due to the random encounters. Am I running too many random events?

I have the purple planet box set but have yet to read it as I just started to play through it last night.
Even then I am not sure I could say you are or are not running too many encounters without knowing if this is a problem at the table for you or your players. Are they engaged? Do they seem bored? Are they complaining about not getting anything done? Are they stopping often to rest because they are constantly wounded? As the Judge, are you engaged or bored with the progress?
Start with those questions first and if you are finding a lot of yes answers then scale them back and see how it goes.
