3rd printing of DCC RPG core book
Does anyone know if the 3rd printing of the DCC RPG core book includes anything new from the 2nd printing? Any new errors fixed, or other differences? Or is it identical to the 2nd printing?

In my case, Purple Duck got an ad in, and my name is in the ad, so my name is now in the book.

In Jim's case I believe his son's name was finally included (or spelled correctly?) as a playtester.

Re: 3rd printing of DCC RPG core book
I'm also curious.
I have an original pre-order copy, i.e. first printing, and am interested in purchasing a copy or two. What has been added or changed from the first printing?

Updated errata page by edition would be sweet.

Re: 3rd printing of DCC RPG core book
From the 1st to the 2nd printing, an index was added, and a couple errata issues were fixed. You can find the list of those corrections here:
http://www.goodman-games.com/5070preview.html
(Scroll down to "Errata and Index" under Resources.)
From the 2nd to the 3rd printing, there weren't significant changes (except for those noted by Daniel and Jim ). I fixed some typos, updated the ads in the back, and so on. I really should have kept better notes, but off the top of my head I don't remember any changes that would affect game play. I will go back through my notes to confirm, but don't hold your breath.

Got my Slipcover edition the other day. It looks awesome. Each page is printed in dark ink; there are no pale ink pages at all. Also, the binding is smythe-sewn and appears to be a bit tighter than in the 2nd printing book I have. The art booklet is incredible as well. Well worth the price.

Re: 3rd printing of DCC RPG core book
This actually brings up an interesting question.
I bought the PDF of the book through Goodman -- is that PDF updated on RPGNow to the current version? And if so, can I get one?

Re: 3rd printing of DCC RPG core book
I was just on RPGNow, downloading the updated Transatlantic Terror pdf -- the next most recently updated file was the core rules for DCC, IIRC. If your copy was fulfilled through RPGNow, you should have it in your Library there.ragboy wrote:I bought the PDF of the book through Goodman -- is that PDF updated on RPGNow to the current version? Re: 3rd printing of DCC RPG core book
I *thought* it was directly from Goodman, because I don't see it in my library -- but it has a watermark with my name, so maybe fulfilled through OBS. Maybe under a different user name -- I figured out I had changed my username a few years ago... I'll check there.GnomeBoy wrote:I was just on RPGNow, downloading the updated Transatlantic Terror pdf -- the next most recently updated file was the core rules for DCC, IIRC. *Edit:* That was it... Thanks!

Cool.
They can merge accounts into one, if you like (I just recently did that, too).

Here seems fine...
Do you chums know if the gold foil skull core rules book has an appendix?

Muddy, do you mean an index? There are many appendices, but no index. Hope that helps.Muddy wrote:Here seems fine...

Oh man, yes, I meant index. Fanx.
Re: 3rd printing of DCC RPG core book
The only differences I noticed between my 2nd printing and 3rd printing are mostly related to changes of the production and presentation of the physical book, not so much content.
The 3rd printing book is slightly wider (image on spine is stretched wider) because of the paper used. The pages seem to be of heavier weight. The inks are darker, making the line art pop more. The grayscale paintings have been darkened and so lose some detail (not a big deal). Full color art throughout seem to have had their brightness and contrast adjusted a bit. The ads in the back have been moved around and updated. An ad for the DCC '13 World Tour with photos of the prizes appears at the end. Every page in the 3rd printing seems to correspond with 2nd printing.fanditch wrote:Each page is printed in dark ink; there are no pale ink pages at all.
