The "Big City"

Post by rymoore »

My players have played through their 0-level and 1st level adventures (Sailors on the Starless Sea and Doom of the Savage Kings.) The survivors are wanting to head for a "big city" in hopes of selling off some of their loot. I have lots planned for along the way, but I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a "big city" from the old GG books.

Thanks!
Ryan

P.S. Thanks to Harley for 2 great adventures!

Punjar: The Tarnished Jewel might meet your needs.

I'd second Punjar -- which is also the setting of the forthcoming Jewels of the Carnifex 3rd Level adventure.

+1 for Punjar. Colourful, decadent city setting that I am going to incorporate into my DCC game soon.

The Punjar release posted up thread has the best images for the city maps, but here are the maps I use for my home games. Slightly more detailed, dramatically less professional. You need to click through a few times to get to the largest. Feel free to make use of them or disregard as you see fit!

I'll have time a bit later to see if I still have the cobbled-together version of that map -- might be nice for folks to see it as a single image...

I did a very quick stitch of the four images with a tiny bit of color correction. Things don't precisely line up, but heh, perhaps it will last until Harley rediscovers the original... :)

Awesome. Thank you, guys.

Nice work, Gnomie! I uploaded it over on pintrest (as linked above) and edited the post to make reading the thread easier to read. If that's a problem, let me know and I'll return your post to its previously, unmessed with state.

@Jon: Nice! Thank you.

I have the original pinned to my wall, but can't find a large enough flatbed scanner (or the clip and paste skills) necessary to render. I've debated paying Doug to ink it as a side project, but he's been too busy doing covers.
