They are shipping out in waves. As Harley has noted, some have shipped out already. All copies should leave the printer by middle of this coming week, more or less. It will take a couple weeks for them to all arrive (domestically) and possibly longer for international...depending on distance...patience is a virtue.Dionysos wrote:Any chance we preorder customers can learn whether our physical books have shipped? Unfortunately, it isn't clear that DCC is for the virtuous!goodmangames wrote:...patience is a virtue.

Anyone know when the PDF will be available to buy?

Any word on when DCC will be available to purchase from DriveThruRPG?

The PDF will be available at the same time the book arrives in stores -- roughly mid to late May.Alaxk wrote:Any word on when DCC will be available to purchase from DriveThruRPG?
Re: The pre-order shipments have left the printer!
I just pre-ordered this in the hopes that I get it before it drops later next month. I even splurged on the limited edition copy.
Seriously, so pumped for it. Pathfinder left me with a headache and didn't scratch the gaming itch I reach for when I want to run my party through underground mazes full of fantastical creatures.

Perhaps the modules will ship at the same time?
Re: The pre-order shipments have left the printer!
Eh. I wish international shipping was quicker - the wait is going to kill me. Bring on the hardcopy and go forth to adventure! With Manilla Road playing in the background...

Not to pimp another system/publisher, but since you specifically mention pathfinder, have you looked into their Beginner Box? It's (literally) filled with awesome.Vanguard wrote:Pathfinder left me with a headache and didn't scratch the gaming itch I reach for when I want to run my party through underground mazes full of fantastical creatures.
Re: The pre-order shipments have left the printer!
I own the core three books of Pathfinder. I didn't see the point in picking up the box, honestly.
I just finished running an 8 month long campaign. By the end of it, the players were pretty much gods (level 12). They killed an Ancient Black Dragon in five rounds.
Right now, I'm running the Burning Wheel.

I will say this. If Paizo run a whole line of BB-style products I would eat them up just like that. The Beginner Box was a masterful introductory RPG product.Ogrepuppy wrote:Not to pimp another system/publisher, but since you specifically mention pathfinder, have you looked into their Beginner Box? Paizo should stop all this Pathfinder nonsense and become a 3PP for DCC RPG!
I bought a whole bunch of Pathfinder stuff to run as a DM. The quality of publication is outstanding and the adventure paths are excellent. However, in the end I just couldn't be bothered with this 'condition' or 'oppurtunity action' type stuff going on. I felt the same as I did when I first looked at D&D 3rd Edition...that the rules got in the way of the game too much. I think the beginner box looked great and having stripped the rules down would probably play very well. I ended up giving my books to one of my players and let him try. As a player, I had a really good time with Pathfinder but I don't think it is so much fun as a DM. I ran 4th edition for just over a year and found as many have that it takes a big effort to keep the game from becoming a combat dominated affair...they take so long! As a DM it was easy to run if you did your prep work and used battlemats but it wasn't very flexible, well I didn't think so.
Anyway...not trying to start a different thread. Pathfinder is a great game, as long as I am a player and not DM.
Back on track...no sign of DCC at my house in the UK yet.

Re: The pre-order shipments have left the printer!
Has anyone got their box yet? I'm practically waiting for the mailman every day. I perk up every time I hear footstep near my door!
I did get an original copy of Sandman: Map of Halaal the other day from Goblinoid Games. I was happy about that.
http://goblinoidgames.blogspot.com/2012 ... ed-by.html
They recently got the licence from Pacesetter Games to release it as PDF and had a few of the boxes in stock. I was a player in this. We played once and it is one of my favorite memories as a kid, though I really didn't know what the hell was going on, it really changed the way I played RPGs. I haven't opened the box yet. I think I want to save it for the old GM, or another GM. Because I want to play it.
And thanks to Michael Curtis for pointing this out!
Now where's that mailman?...
