Maryville TN. No sign of DCC RPG 7 days and waiting....sigh.
I have never been this excited about getting my hands on a RPG.

I have decided that the wait for the DCC RPG book to appear is
part of a clever spell to make me young again...as I wait as eagerly
for the mail-person each day as I did when I was a child waiting
for my box of Sea Monkeys or some such thing I'd "sent away" for.

I was about ten years old when I figured out that you could order stuff from the Christmas Wishbooks until July. I saved up alllowance and birthday money for a Star Wars Electronic Battle Simulator. Waiting for that thing to show up was the most agonizing two weeks of my young existence. I've gotten only slightly better over the years.

Are you too young to remember sending away for Boba Fett? That was agony!arcadayn wrote:I was about ten years old when I figured out that you could order stuff from the Christmas Wishbooks until July. Re: The pre-order shipments have left the printer!
Oh yeah, that was after the Electronic Battle Game. I think Boba Fett took like two or three months. I was super pissed because I sent in two within a month of the stupid offer, and I still got the shitty ones with the non-firing missile.

Hey! We should! I think I'm going to be able to convert my gaming group over to DCC RPG. You could join us.ragboy wrote:In Round Rock. Mailbox empty... Hey! We should game.DimitriX wrote:I'm in Austin, TX and still haven't gotten anything.
Re: The pre-order shipments have left the printer!
If it's being sent via USPS Media Mail, it can take a while. Media Mail is inexpensive, but moves at whatever speed the Post Office desires.
I'm hoping to be surprised one day soon, but it'll happen when it happens.

And of course our congress, in their infinite wisdom, is trying to shut down the distribution centers of the US mail. Good idea, let's bomb Canada so we can get rid of Firefighters because we are too broke!

Re: The pre-order shipments have left the printer!
I had a dream last night where this thick, heavy, US. Mail package showed up. I was all excited and tore the box open, only to find that it was some old-game I ordered off of ebay or something (some old game that I recognized, and obviously must have ordered.) I was so bummed it wasn't the copy of DCC RPG that I ordered.

I am so pissed I drug my feet and didn't pre-order. I envy you all even though no one has a hard copy yet.
Hey Wayfaring_Sword, isn't your town pronounced "Murrvulle, TN"?
I'm in Knoxville, so I can poke fun. When you set up your game I would be very interested in joining.

Re: The pre-order shipments have left the printer!
Man if you guys don't have it, I don't know what chance a CA guy like me has of getting it soon. To make matters worse I've got an easy to see mail box that the book is going to stick out of like a flag (and right by a high foot traffic area to boot). I just hope I'll be home to get the mail as it arrives.

Guys - most of you are in the USA. Imagine what a guy across the pond must feel. Terror! Added weeks of waiting!

Heheh, true. The trade-off is you can get LotFP stuff for way cheaper and quicker! When I ordered Vornheim, I happened to be visiting Germany, and I had it shipped to my hotel! It saved me a bunch.Zdanman wrote:Guys - most of you are in the USA. Imagine what a guy across the pond must feel. Terror! Added weeks of waiting!

NEW DCC SPELL: Summon Rulebook
When enough levels of wizards combine their spellcasting energies together, they can summon a copy of the rulebook to the gaming table. This can be countered by the great god USPS (pronounced "us-pus"), which can manifest itself as a giant blue vortex that can suck rulebooks back into the void if a wizard fails his spell roll. A moderate failure of spell roll results in a summoned spell book, but one that has been folded or bent or otherwise mutilated by USPS.
If you're curious, I failed my spell roll today. No rulebook summoned today. Maybe tomorrow.

Re: The pre-order shipments have left the printer!
Nobody has posted to brag about receiving their eagerly awaited rulebook? Even media mail doesn't take a week and a half to go from the midwest to the midwest (not unless they can claim hurricanes, tornadoes, or trail derailments, lol).
I begin to suspect a delay at the printer. Can we verify that batches are indeed still shipping?

I think Harley must live next door, or know the printers personally. I can't think of another reason to explain that pic...Brasidas wrote:Nobody has posted to brag about receiving their eagerly awaited rulebook? Here in LA, mailman has come and gone. I at least got a thumb-drive I ordered a while back.

Still nothing in Iowa.
It is kind of odd that nobody has gotten it yet.

I agree. It does seem like its taking longer than it should.Brasidas wrote:Nobody has posted to brag about receiving their eagerly awaited rulebook?
