The number of posts by spambots is getting annoying. Whoever the admin for the board is (Joseph?) should go into the admin control panel and turn on the visual confirmation option to prevent spam bots from creating accounts.

Admincp-->Configuration-->"Enable Visual Confirmation"-->Click YES.

I don't know what version of phpBB you're running, but I believe you need at least version 2.0.13 for the visual confirmation option. The most current version is 2.0.17, so if you're not running that you probably want to upgrade anyway. :)
