Question about DCC #50

Hi Joe!

Quick question,

Are you and the team planning anything SPECIAL for DCC #50? Kind of a big milestone, and just wondered if it was going to be some big honkin' project that was just going to astonish.

Thanks,

The superfan

Of course! :)

#50 is written by Monte Cook.

As if that weren't special enough, it also features a very special map. Let's just say it rotates -- not just in "game world", but in "real life" too...

A map of Sigil?!? *shrieks like a girl*

You're going to do a Planescape DCC?!? *shrieks like several girls*

...and then I woke up.

Perhaps even an orc and a pie?

Maybe like the map from the most recent Pirates Of The Caribbean movie? You know, the one with rings that move around each other?

Exactly. :)

It's a rotating dungeon map which will really make it cool for players and DMs alike. Also, there's an illustration from Vault of the Iron Overlord online here: http://www.neothera.com/coldblast.html.

I just can't remember if that trap was one of mine or one of Monte's...

Edit: It was one of Monte's.

Oh, and hello (saw it was my first post here) :)[/i]

I see there is now official blurb about the adventure up on the front page!! Cool!!

So the rotating map is going to be included in the module such that it actually rotates? Presumably with some sort of ring thing holding it to the back cover? It would be good if it could come away from the module without damaging the cover, perhaps use rubber cement to attach it to the inside back cover instead of a permanent fixture?

Just some thoughts......I liked the Otus cover, too :)

I can't say what physical form the map will be. You probably won't be able to remove it from the cover, though.

Oh, and those who wish to get the most out of the adventure could benefit from picking up the first issue of Wolfgang Baur's Kobold Quarterly

Just sayin'

How does Kobold Quarterly tie in to this module?

It doesn't tie in directly (as in "this article was written to enhance DCC 50"). There's just derro in both.

The maps are really cool... physically embedded on the inside cover, and each ring of the dungeon rotates separately. The starting position is printed on the inside back cover. As the PCs advance through the dungeon, their actions will spin the rings... which you as a DM can do to the map inside the cover!

I remember an old Dungeon adventure called "Ex Libris". It had a puzzle dungeon with 8 tiles that were to be shifted about without the players seeing it. This will be so much cooler. And having the start diagram printed on the cover is a great idea!

One question from me: where on Áereth is DCC #50 located?
