Monte Cook writing DCC for Gencon

Post by crazy_cat »

Care to make any comment about this little gem I picked up over on Monte Cooks forums?

Monte was asked about his last two RPG products which are due for releas at Gencon - one is World of Darkness, and the other was something of a mystery and then...
The other is a special Dungeon Crawl Classics adventure for Goodman Games, slated for release at Gen Con. No, not Castle Whiterock, which you may have already heard about (which, by the way, sounds really great), but a different adventure.

Best of all, my co-author was our very own Siobharek.

More details to come (once again, like with World of Darkness, it's their purview to release information, since it's their product).

Monte
Sounds good, and now we know about it so you don't need to keep quiet any more...... :D

I know. I tried to bribe him with coffee to give us more info in the Castle Whiterock post. Nada. The man's a rock. Like getting blood from a stone, I tell ya!

Try Godiva Chocolates. Especially one with Hazelnut. He might give up a word or two.

Yes, it's true! It's a terrific adventure, too -- short but very, very sweet. More details to come. :)

OK, never let it be said that I said no to a crying emoticon! It's a mid-level adventure... with a very nice balance of puzzles, traps, and combat... and the map physically rotates. You'll have to see it to believe it. :)

I've never been to GenCon...is that the only place you get these modules? If so I may have to make this happen...

Monte's adventure will be #50 in the DCC series. It will be available in stores shortly after Gen Con.

Heya Joe,

If Monte's DCC is going to be #50 and premiere at the show, will there still be a Gen Con "DCC #X.5" exclusive? Or is it too early to talk about that?

Well, they are doing a GenCon tournament module. So that may be a GenCon special.

But those are the girls you don't want your sons dating.

Exactly. I want to date those kinds of girls. If you know any, send 'em my way.

(I have sons?!? Have you been listening to Billie Jean again? "The kid is not my son..." Besides, I used protection that one time... )

It speaks highly of the DCC line that they can get Cook to write a DCC. Man doesn't waste his time on projects he doesn't like. Last year Monte said he might play in the DCC tournament --- hope this turns out to be true!
