Looking for a Good One-Nighter - Suggestions?

Post by oguthrie »

Hey Folks,

I'm looking for a good one-night game for this coming weekend. I have a couple of people who will be new to D&D, and maybe 3 or 4 seasoned gamers. I looked at the Chalychia game, but I think it might be too high level...that is, characters would be a bit complicated for first timers.

Any suggestions?

Many thanks!!

I found the Transmuter's Last Touch is small enough you can finish it in an evening (4-5 hours) and also a good introductory module for new players.

Level you're looking for?

Anything from The Adventure Begins will suit you nicely if they're fairly low-level PCs--specifically 1st level PCs.

I swear, that book was the single best purchase I've made (in terms of game books) in close to 5 or 6 years.

Excellent suggestion.

The other "two dollar module" - The Dragonfiend Pact - also fits the bill nicely.

I concur that either of the two 'small' modules or something from The Adventure Begins would be best for a single night session.....unless you're hardcore and plan on playing until the sun comes up or something :)

And, having said that, you could even combine 2 adventures from Adventure Begins.

Dragonsfiend Pact gets my vote, real good module.

I'd suggest DCC #0 -- Legends are Made, not Born. Just use your own PCs.

It would be a wee bit under powered, but I always think that is a good thing for new players.

Thanks for all the good tips!

I'll head down to the local gaming store and see what I can find!

Thanks again,
