Ordering Goodman Games through Amazon...

Hey all,

i don't know if Goodman Games is aware but one of your product is clearly mislabeled on amazon...

I ordered 5 GG books via amazon.CA; Etherscope, upload: Etherpunk, Wandereres Guild; Primeval Grooves and Boundless Blue. Those are all great and can't wait to read them after this post.

The 5th book, however, Underdark Adventure Guide: d20 scourcebook is not as advertised on amazon.com and .ca. Instead of that book, i got Morningstar Campaign which i do not want at all. Obviously since we are planning adventure in Etherscope.

Here are the links.

Amazon.CA

http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/0972624 ... 41-8518763

Amazon.COM

http://www.amazon.com/o/ASIN/0972624155 ... 15-2135302

--------

okay, if i had seen the comment made in (or shop at ) amazon.com, i wouldn't order it. I thought the MorningStar picture was a mistake and the book was Underdark Adventure Guide. Clearly the book is MorningStar. Of course i will return it for a refund.

Therefore, i hope Goodman Games cares and can maybe contact amazon and changed the product TITLE and product DESCRIPTION. It is a really high incovienience to return product, especially since it takes time with all the shipping. Now i am unsure to order this book from other online sellers.

thanks

They aren't as discounted as Amazon, nor will you get cheap shipping, but NobleKnightGames and stiggybaby games have been good to me for over 6 years now.

I have no idea of any located in Canada or the UK.

Well finally, i order it through local gaming store for retail price. I should get it in 10 days. Planning to do an Jules Verne "Journey to the Center of the Earth", Etherscope style ( heroic exploration/ horror). Maybe as we go deeper into Earth's core... the barrier between Ether and Prime Reality isn't as strong... just an idea.

Now all i got to do is return Morning Star.. and deal with all the shipping and handling. Good thing amazon has good customer service.

I generally go thruogh my local game store here ,first. But, there are some things that just don't show up on the shelf. Usually just asking the manager/owner will get it ordered in though. When that option doesn't work, try going directly to the company. This has saved me much grief.

The reason i don't order directly from some Publishers is that they don't carry the delivery option i want or they haven't specify them.

For example, i order something from FFG via Amazon.com for like for 56.21$ CAD ( 49.96$ USD). But FFG use UPS for shipping in Canada which is weird cuz at their site, clients can choose UPS or USPS. UPS has hidden fees for Canada. UPS charges me an EXTRA 29.55$ CAD, taxes excluded, just for "process" fee. That is 50% of the value items i order!. It is really just legal fraud

USPS is superior for international shipping cuz they have a deal with Canada Post. With USPS you only pay taxes on certain items, that's it.

of course, i refused the items and send them back to FFG and didn't pay, got refunded.

----

Like i really want to order the gift bags from Goodman Games but i don't know the shipment options until i fill out everything. See below, it is not specific enough. Surface mail, okay, but which carrier though?
Shipping:

* USA - Media mail. For most items, cost is 10% of total order; free on orders above $50.00.
* Canada - Surface mail. For most items, cost is 10% of total order; free on orders above $50.00.

I can feel your pain Goblin,

I recently took advantage of a sale at FFG and bought a bunch of books at $5 USD a pop. They were from their Legends & Lairs series. $20 for the books, and it was about the same for shipping (a bit less). However, I had selected UPS not knowing any better. The 'brokerage charge' was as much as the package was (or... if you rather... more than the cost for shipping).

Another friend of mine last week got hit with a $40 charge last week when he received a package of baked goods from the States.

As far as I'm concerned, UPS is *not* an option for shipping to Canada.

I used KN to buy a friend, who happens to live in Serbia, some books and it got to him within 3 weeks of my order.

Thanks for those links Gargoyle! They seem to have good prices and the low shipping costs is nice!
