Tellessa will open the "mailbox" and look inside.
The disc is constructed from a thick alloy none of you recognize. It is bisected by a hairline seam.

There's a red button in the box.

Re: DCC 87.5 Grimtooth's Museum of Death (run as a funnel)

Skipping ahead to get to the true start of the adventure. Suffice to say that the castle so far has been devoid of anything but furniture-less rooms, empty cupboards, and dust - lots of dust. There's enough light outside that you don't need torches or lanterns (yet - but I need to know who will be c...

GnomeBoy/Jon - works for me, sure

Fenris - thumbs up

quozl - I'd say 4, for the time being

Okay, folks, we'll have to pause there until Gary Con VIII is over - leaving for Wisconsin around lunchtime. I'll be back Monday 3/7. Then we'll have more fun storming the castle.

Pancakes :)

Seriously, I think I only remembered it because of the gathering of links I did from the original thread. When I saw this one, I had major deja vu and a quick search confirmed I wasn't crazy (at least as far as this went).

I don't know why you copied another forum user's post from October 2014 word for word, but my answer is the same as it was in that thread.

Re: DCC 87.5 Grimtooth's Museum of Death (run as a funnel)

Reaching the top of the butte, you stand before a foreboding castle surrounded by buttressed stone walls. Up close, the stronghold appears even more uninviting and shabby. Missing shingles pockmark the conical roofs capping the fortification’s weather-beaten towers. All the windows are either shutt...

Re: DCC 87.5 Grimtooth's Museum of Death (run as a funnel)

A wide gradual path slopes lazily around the butte leading up to the castle. Aalternatively, ascending the steep pitch of the butte is slower and takes more effort, but appears to be achievable. The grounds are quite lovely, spoiled only by the somber gray castle looming above, & more signs litt...

Re: CHOOSE THE FORM OF THE DESTRUCTOR! (which funnel do I ru

Sure. Everyone post your zeroes x 4 here. As long as it's by the book (3d6 in order, etc) I don't care if you roll'em up yourself or use www.purplesorcerer.com . Once that's done (don't forget names) I'll start a new thread titled Grimtooth's Museum of Death (as a funnel) or something similar (I'll ...

Forrest, I play-tested it early on w/ Jim at Gateway Games here in Cincinnati. I don't want to reveal anything w/o Jim's consent, but let me stress that if (a) you like Dungeon Crawl Classics RPG, and (b) you liked Gamna World, then I honestly cannot fathom how you wouldn't feel the same about MCC. ...

CHOOSE THE FORM OF THE DESTRUCTOR! (which funnel do I run?)

I hear you guys want someone else to start up another funnel. I'm your huckleberry, just pick from these above.

Votes will be taken through, say, this Friday 2/12 5pm-ish (Eastern, if it matters). We can get started pretty soonish right after, if there's enough interest.

Not the best image of it, but it's the spine art of the slipcase edition (pre 4th printing) of the core rule book. By Doug Kovacs, of course.

Re: 20 point spell burn

I read it the same way Antony & Auston do; you do not roll, your next spell check is an automatic natural 20. If you roll you're double dipping. So, blow 20 points of physical stats for a spellcheck result of 20 + CL + Int Mod + CL again * for a guaranteed success without risk other than the sub...

Re: Positioning for combat, traps, etc with so many characte

Since Portal is only composed of a dozen rooms/areas or so, I made an enlarged copy of the map and then cut it apart, laminating each area as I did (some as small as 2" x 2", others as big as a quarter page). Running it I'd just lay the next area out for all to see and if necessary have th...
