I am, of course, kidding.
Mostly I am looking for fun/inspirational content to help me with fairly standard fantasy-based DCC games.
That's not to say the occasional robot couldn't make an appearance.

Re: Corpse issues
It's a dead chicken, right? 1) An adult hen or rooster is maybe 10 pounds? Traps designed to catch people might not be triggered by such a low weight 2) That sucker is going to start smelling pretty quick. Wandering monsters much? 3) As the players smack the dead bird into doors and walls, it may st...

Re: Keep on the Borderlands, Unknown- reprints ? DCC
Sure they do, but it doesnt seem necessary. Im sure WoC could have done it without them. Its a bit disappointing to me that GG didnt put their own spin on the project. A DCC "In Search of the Unknown" and "Keep" would have been fun. Being an old school fan, i will definitely pic...

Re: Keep on the Borderlands, Unknown- reprints ? DCC
My guess consists of two reasons:
1) While one could totally "riff" on B1 & B2 in a DCC way, the modules aren't very DCC in vibe in their original state.
2) Since WOTC owns the modules, I expect they want them for their own system.

What makes a good funnel?
Hello all, I've played DCC several times at cons, and even run a (unfortunately) short campaign and am hoping to start another. I had it in my head to try writing up a short funnel myself as opposed to using a published one. I've written -and even published- several adventures over the years, but no...

I just saw your Skull Mountain conversion. Nicely done.
Thanks for the kind words on the module, BTW.
Sadly FMG is no longer active, but the pdfs are free on RPGNow.

Re: A Decent Sized Ship
Looks like some fun stuff in the 'zine. I've made a bit of a study regarding things like ship design and sea travel for RPGs over the years. It's more complicated than you might think. One of the big factors is that if you are in a world where cannon or gunpowder was never invented or ever became a ...

Re: A Decent Sized Ship
Wow. A lot to unpack there. Let's stick with the short answer. Galleys, as the linked Wikipedia article show, were mainly rowing ships. They worked in the ancient Mediterranean because of A) Slave rowers, and B) Relatively little rough weather. Galleys don't handle a lot of chop well. If you want mo...

Re: a question about Sailors on the Starless Sea
It would certainly get one some odd looks carrying it through town.
It may also attract the attention of religious types. Priests or agents of both Law and Chaos would probably be very interested in why the PC has it and what plans they have (if any) for it.

Re: How do you handle wizards learning spells
This is a subject I've been pondering as I've been considering a new DCC campaign. My current feeling is the random learning of a new spell upon leveling represents a sudden insight due to the culmination of all of the wizard's previous nightly meditations to recharge his spells. When he levels, he ...

Re: Tracking time and random encounters?
DCC doesn't seem to be as detailed about resource management as games like D&D/LL, but part of that –I assume– is deliberate to leave things up to individual GMs. The note about tracking encumbrance seems to follow this vein. A character who carries too much weight is slowed down. Use common sen...

Neutralize Poison or Disease vs. Lay on Hands
So why is there the 2nd level cleric spell when one can remove a disease or counter a poison with the lay on hands ability? Is it simply for the more powerful effects of the higher spell check results?

Re: DCC GM report: Portal Under the Stars (completed)
Session 2: The party pressed on down the spiral stairs, reaching a long hall-like room. Inside were several shelves of clay figurines as well as tables with miniature terrain to simulate battles. A war room of some kind it seemed. Near the other end of the room was a door. When they found one of the...

One Who Watches is a nice module (haven't read the other ones yet).
Dungeon Alphabet is a good tool/source of inspiration. The Random Esoteric Creature Generator is a good companion to the Alphabet.

1st time DCC GM report: Portal Under the Stars (complete)
So I finally took the plunge and started the players in the sample funnel from the back of the book. I ran sets of pregens from Purple Sorcerer's site for simplicity. There were 4 players with 4 PCs each. We hand-waved a lot of the start-up, glossing over some of Old Man Roberts' deathbed speech. On...
