OK. I already have the print version but I don't have the PDF. This seems like a good reason to pick up a copy!

Re: The D&D covers conceptualized...
This is really neat. My first D&D or RPG anything was the Mentzer red box so it will always have a special place in my heart but I tracked down the Moldvay sets early on. I too wondered what additional sets in the Moldvay line might have looked like.

Re: Mystic Seer
Like a magic 8-ball. Hmmm, has anyone incorporated rules for magic 8-balls yet? Why is there not an entire RPG rules system based on magic 8-ball results?!

Lol! I don't know why but this is the funniest thing I've read all day. But to your point, I'll be sure to include the full title if I should post a vid.

Re: fantasy earth
My weekly campaign takes place in what I call "Progressive Fantasy Earth" which is basically just Earth roughly 700 years ago but without the ignorance, sexism, and strict social rules that are often hallmarks of medieval history. We're more interested in letting people play the characters...

OOC: Also, Honest John shoots his sling at the robed figure, to hit 15, damage 3. Red Robert fires his short bow at the same figure, to hit 20 (not natural), damage 5.

Re: The Ruins of Ramat - 0-level funnel
OOC: OK. That was far less disastrous than I thought it would be. Honest John: "Well, we didn't move this thing for nothing. Let's see if there's anything interesting in here." Red Robert: "A room full of heavily armed murderous animated skeletons is interesting. Let's see if there's ...

Re: The Ruins of Ramat - 0-level funnel
OOC: BTW, THIS is why I love OSR! I vastly prefer to have the Judge have total discretionary power in cases like this. Common sense and good role playing beat out "feats" and overly detailed rules systems every time.

Re: The Ruins of Ramat - 0-level funnel
OOC: Personally, I try to limit the number of dice rolls in my game. But I also think players should get to use their character's strenghts (and weaknesses). If it's one of those things where the plot basically stops if the players DON'T succeed in forcing the door, picking the lock, finding the sec...

Re: The Ruins of Ramat - 0-level funnel
OOC: Marvin has a STR mod of 0, right Chthonicthul? Honest John has a STR mod of +2. This is one of the reasons why I don't care for the mod system for combined effort. Or do we get to move up the die chain?
