Re: Any point in spell level?

Yeah I think maybe there's a misunderstanding. you asked for reasons why one would keep the spell level system. well...here they are. But these reasons are going to be world-building reasons; fiction reasons; non-rule reasons. Actual rules driven reasons you can't do something are virtually impossib...

At our game they roll on which 50% of the arrow survived, the arrowhead or the fletching.

For example - if you grab the 2018 GFA vol 7, it not only provides an index for the 2018 GFA, it indexes pretty much every zine that deals with DCC and it's forms, including the GFA itself. you can get the pdf for free here: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/261901/2018-Gongfarmers-Almanac-Volume...

Re: Adding Skills

I’m generally uninterested in GM fiat as a solution... This right here might be the disconnect. Let me be as clear as I possibly can. I would never tell you how you should play. But I can say with some experience that DCC was kinda built on the idea that there are a lot of places (skills being one ...

Re: Let's Talk About Spellburn

So up til now, has massive Spellburn had no consequence? Okay, so they save it up for the so-called "Big Bad".... Does nothing then happen for a week or two after that's done, allowing them to heal it all back? I've always figured that the action should be unpredictable, so that sometimes...

Re: Secret door base detection rules?

Lately, I've been leaving it up to player's actions. If they say they are inspecting and tapping on the wall behind the throne and there is a secret door there...they find it. I'll even settle for "I check the wall for secret doors," if the door isn't hidden in a very specific way. In the...

Serioulsy, there's so much DCC in a single room now, I often don't even see other parts of that convention.

Re: Fantasy Grounds

Why would GG not want to further their VTT gaming presence with FG and the DCC ruleset that has been created by a fan of DCC. Can anyone from GG speak as to why this is not even on your radar? VTTs are the way of the future as they allow friends and gaming groups separated by not only distance, but...

Re: Lay on Hands and Ability Score Damage

New DCC Judge here! I've had one session so far and I'm really enjoying it. I do have a question though and my searches have proven fruitless in finding an answer: Can a Cleric heal ability score damage with Lay on Hands? The Core Rulebook doesn't explicitly say yes or no. I know it does say it can...

Pushback - Aug 1st Availability online

Greetings, As is my curmudgeonly way, I will make my first contribution a pushback. I suggest that the GFA not be available online until at the very least after GenCon has ended. Historically, the GFA was intended to be something handed out at GenCon, then distributed *physically* be volunteers who ...

Re: Lucky roll without luck modifier

I'm going to try to make this as short as possible... Characters at first level start in Town A. Due to a certain occurrence under a starless sky, they are transported about 1000 miles to the south. It's been two years or more of playing time, an unknown amount of time in-game, and they finally make...

The first answer, which is first and true, is that it's your game so do as you see fit.

Having said that, by the rules luck cannot be burned for something like increasing armor class.

Some sadness as GenCon is underway, and I'm unable to attend again. What is really eating at me currently is the release of some old modules with "retro" covers, because this appears to be a "GenCon only" promotion. http://goodman-games.com/blog/2018/07/26/gen-con-2018-new-relea...
