Re: Lack of a cleric spell
Why not make your own spell? Call it "Communion" or something.

Re: DCC Halfling only class that's worse than Basic D&D source
There are two "events", each has a 1/16 chance to happen. 256 total combined outcomes, 15/256 for first attack to crit, 15/256 for the second attack to crit, 1/256 for both to crit. 11.7% for either the first or second attack to crit, 0.39% for both to crit.

Re: Lack of a cleric spell
I think, mechanically, it is a little more involved for a cleric to gain worshipers for their god and build up the congregation. Most of it should be done through your adventuring and role playing, as well as spending resources on building/enhancing a church, maybe charity work if your god is into i...

Yeah, I said that last page. hehe. Hmmm. Maybe halflings should be allowed to burn luck to get a critical hit? Might make them better at higher levels.

Yeah, I saw that Lost City was available for pre-order so this makes me wonder about OAR 5, OAR 6, etc.

The series so far
I've got OAR #1,2,&3 so far, its nice to have copies of the old original adventures mixed with an updated version. So, with OAR #3 it looks like you added a ribbon to the book? I like this. I notice that OAR#1 had a spine the same color as the cover, but #2 & #3 have red spines. Makes me won...

Re: DCC Halfling only class that's worse than Basic D&D sour
..they aren't meant to be front-line fighters standing shoulder to belt with warriors. Tell that to the guy in my online campaign who rolled a halfling haberdasher with +1 STR, +2 Luck and the "Charmed House" sign. After finding one of the sets of chainmail in Sailors she had an AC of 17....

Re: Restoring STA Points -- Potions? Spells?
You could have the players encounter a magical water-spring or something with sweet water that heals injuries. Or they could meet up with some mythical being who invites them for a banquet with food that heals them. EDIT: Or you run into a higher level cleric who can cast the restore spell for a fav...

Re: The *New* Forum Begs A Moment From You...
I can not think of anything at this time, but I do think it is not the best policy to put a deadline on new suggestions because you never know how long it takes for something to simmer in the back of your mind before you come up with a suggestion that is helpful or good to help better organize the f...

I think if you look in the Purple Planet setting info there are different mushrooms there, forget what they do off the top of my head.

Re: Thief Action Dice
Some Judges, including some I have experienced personally, will not allow you to use backstab with another character acting as a distraction. Or say... don't let you "backstab" with a ranged weapon, even though it is technically allowed by the rules.

Re: Confused about the highest Patron Bond result
1. The way I read it, you can cast "Invoke Patron" at +2, up to four times a day. You also gain two patron spells. Instead of casting invoke patron, you may cast one of the patron spells. Each patron spell can be cast once a day. There is no bonus to cast the patron spell. So you decide to...

Re: Dwarf Shield Bash and Attack Die
When your warrior reaches level 5, getting a second action die, what you get is.. 1d20 for first action, 1d14 for second. 1d7 for deed die 18-20 threat range 1d24 on the crit table 5 Compared to say.. a level 2 warrior 1d20 for action die 1d4 deed die 19-20 threat range 1d14 on crit table 3 So being...

Re: Dwarf Shield Bash and Attack Die
RAW, it says declare A deed before any attack, but not declare A deed for EVERY attack. So I see a gray area based on RAW as to whether you can do more than one deed or not, but everything I read implies that you declare A deed, one deed, not one per attack.

Re: Dwarf Shield Bash and Attack Die
I think you'd only be allowed to attempt one deed per turn anyways. A warrior with an extra action die to use for an extra attack each turn would still only get to perform one deed a turn, so a dwarf with a regular attack and a shield bash will only get to attempt one deed a turn as well. As for add...

Re: clerics and patrons & clerics and gods
If I understand what you are asking, it is, "how do you create a system similar to Patrons and their spells for Wizards, except it is Gods and their spells for Clerics" Technically, all of the spells a Cleric gets to use are gifted by their god already. There are some good examples in the ...

Re: Goblinoid alignment
I think of "lawful" vs "chaotic" as cosmic alignment stuff, kind of like being a libra vs gemini or whatever. But if it makes you feel any better, being lawful doesnt mean you are "good" , it just means you follow some structure. Two lawful human kingdoms can go to war ...

Re: Abolish the Thief Class
Well, I would say some Judges are more harsh on allowing thiefs to do their thing with backstab than others, some players are less imaginative than others in using terrain or circumstances to their advantage, and some gaming tropes for dungeon design may be limiting player options for hiding in shad...

Re: Patrons for non-wizards
I've been working on a "non wizard" version of "patron bond" kind of system for a little while, mulling it in the back of my mind. Part of the idea requires that the patrons kind of be accessible living beings in the world you're playing in. So far I have it that either you are i...

Any good (or lucky) cleric should be casting bless self and then holy symbol (if high enough) and going to town on the monsters. Leave the healing for later
