Re: My Skill System - seeking feedback

This was a good read and well presented. I would suggest that for zero levels you allow a single skill point and that it strongly be limited to their profession/background. For example, unless the character starting background was as a bandit or a hunter I would not allow stealth. Too much powergami...

Re: DCC protects against railroading … but can it do a sandb

Nobody else seems to like my approach of making spellburn take time to mitigate its use in combat. The more points you use the longer it takes. Right now I am hovering around at 2 points/caster lvl per action die.

But on the original topic, I don't see why DCC RPG does not work with a sandbox.

Re: Limits to Spell Burn?

I place limits to spellburn in combat, I'm not 100% settled; I was thinking that a wizard can spellburn 2 points per action die. The process takes time! If you want to spell burn ten points as a first level wizard it is going to take you 5 rounds to cast that spell. Isn't this a little like saying ...

Vance's Cugel stories have lots of monsters that I have never heard of, even in D&D.

Roman Pantheon detailed: Jupiter, Apollo

This is my first attempt at describing a diety for clerics in DCC RPG. I decided to try the Roman pantheon. Here is Jupiter, I think it provides some decent flavor. Critique and comments welcome! I prefer the d7 as a d14 numbered twice, a d3 as a d6 numbered twice, and a d5 as a d10 numbered twice. But the koplow stuff is just so huge! If there would make them in a smaller size that would be much better.

Re: New Kickstarter for Funkier (d18, d11, d15) dice

I understand that, as I am the designer of those dice, my words will be taken carefully: I would react the same way :) . But concerning the fairness, I wanted to add that I made some trials myself (the famous Chi Squared tests ), and, for instance, the spherical D7 works pretty well, and - in my ca...

Re: god writeup templates?

Thanks, Zu-Jarris has a spell list too! Believe it or not I am sick of waiting for a pantheon to be published so I am in the process of writing up the Roman pantheon! I don't know if it will be of much use to folks. I am still gathering information on the 20(!) main gods and am sorting it all out.

god writeup templates?

Does there exist anywhere a template for writing up gods for DCC RPG? I am attempting to write up a pantheon and want a starting point. Things that would be good to have are like this: how many spells of each level would a deity have available for a worshipping cleric? I already figure to need to in...

Re: Question: Thieves, Luck & Death

I'll try to be more clear using the same example: Character's luck is 10. He needs a 10 or lower to make his luck roll. He rolls a 16 on the die for the recover-the-body to work. He has nothing to lose, so the character burns 6 luck. 6 points of burnt luck are used to modify his roll from 16 to 10 ...

I think this is a pretty good example of what a Barbarian in DCC might look like, good work to whomever did the write up. So, counting the Orc that makes three varieties thus far. It's very interesting to see new ideas like these. http://skylandgames.wordpress.com/2013/07/29/simply-barbaric-the-dcc...
