Re: Curious about the DCC RPG packaging
* The "Zocchi dice" (as I call them) are a lot of fun and are part of the game. They're currently available from http://www.gamestation.net/ (and can be ordered by your local game store as well). My goal is to also make them available in some format as part of DCC RPG - either included or...

Re: Curious about the DCC RPG packaging
I also would like to see an intro adventure bundled with the box set (or sketched in the text of the single rulebook, perhaps in no more detail than in the Holmes or Moldvay basic sets). I'd much prefer to have the intro adventure as its own pamphlet, rather than in the text of the single rulebook....

Curious about the DCC RPG packaging
I'm sure this is waaaaay early to know for sure, but I'm curious as to how much thought has been put into the way the DCC RPG will be packaged. Thoughts so far, questions, and a wishlist for the game: I assume a boxed set. My guess is that the rulebook will be a standard 8.5x11" size, but it wo...

Very nice. I don't think I have any software that will do stuff like this. Sometimes I can create something kind of spiffy in Paint, but nothing of this magnitude.

Re: A plea for the upcoming DCC RPG....
At the Anonycon playtest I used the 3E SRD for the stats of monsters mentioned in the Castle of the Mad Archmage, and that worked fine, and also used the Castles & Crusades stats given in Castle Zagyg, and that also worked fine! I'm not really surprised by this, based on what I've read so far a...

Awesome story, really neat artwork.
I'm particularly interested in the B&W "old school" look, and that art really is cool.

Yes, it seems to share a similar design philosophy to C&C so I can see it cutting into my current C&C campaign as well.

Wow! What an awesome write-up!
If possible, my interest in the game has just gone up.
The more-random philosophy has some great ramifications and I think my group's style will fit this quite nicely!

I've got my module right here, and I'll confirm that your details seem to match my map as well.Jengenritz wrote:All of this assumes that the final map matches my originals, but I'm pretty sure they do.
I'd hate to have map typos. Those are the toughest to fix.

Re: What system will the modules be for after DCC:RPG?
Wow, and I thought 3.X was bogged down with combat rules. . . . The thing about 4E is that they have designed the system to allow each character to have lots of cool things he/she can do, even at first level. (Kind of like having lots of extra feats.) While this is exciting at first for pla...

Re: What system will the modules be for after DCC:RPG?
Entire evenings are spent in resolution of combats - especially at higher levels. There's little time for roleplay - its all tactics as people shift for position hold their actions and continuously talk tactics glossing over every option. When I GM I'm losing the will to live sometimes when it can ...

Re: First Time Home Campaign Creation
I agree that the basic ideas you've outlined are pretty neat. I also agree that the players typically won't follow a specific outline, and if you "encourage" them too much they might not gain full enjoyment of the campaign. My approach is typically to have general sketchy notes for several...

Re: Homebrew Campaign Setting resources?
Building a campaign is going to be guided somewhat by the experience of your players. If you have an experienced party then look at the big picture -- what makes this campaign different from any other you've run -- start with a few key locations that fit the style of the game and fill in details aft...

Re: GENCON 2011 and DCC RPG
That's a bummer. I'm also one of those "on the fence" as to whether it's worth going to GenCon or not. DCC RPG might have tipped the scales, but it's only one factor among several.goodmangames wrote:I unfortunately won't be at Gen Con 2011 anyway!

The problem with suggesting a different system is that Dragonhelm likes the 4e system. My error. I noted that the poster had been on the Piazza forum and didn't connect that he wanted something 4E-based. (Many posters on the Piazza are pre-3E gamers.) 4E is different enough from other editio...

Re: Web board forum "sub-folders"
In "clumps" of modules seems good at first, but what do you do with related series? For example, DCC #1 and DCC #27 both deal with the rat king, and I'm sure there are some threads out there that would be hard to classify based on "DCC #1-10" and "DCC #20-30." Hmm... I...

lost them to the xbox 360 at some point. I haven't been able to coax them back to the table yet. :( This is unfortunate. My kids are into PS3 when they play solo but are quick to run back to the table when I run C&C or other old-school game. My kids are kind of "into" dice, so that he...

Re: What system will the modules be for after DCC:RPG?
I've washed my hands of 4th edition after trying to "fall in love with it" numerous times with various DMs and play groups and always feeling unsatisfied in the end. Sadly, I've nearly reached this conclusion myself. I'll probably finish the 4E campaign I'm running currently but I'm not s...
