I'm doing some editing and "fancifying," but I'll upload it for sure by tomorrow morning (PST). Glad some people are liking it.

Re: Custom Character Sheet available for criticism and ridic
I played around with some borders and frames, but I haven't really found anything yet that catches my eye; I'm still playing around with it, but good idea regardless. As for the Hoplite, I run an antediluvian/bronzeage themed game, so it suits my taste, but as I said, if anybody is really interested...

Custom Character Sheet available for criticism and ridicule
I'm no Dyson Logos, but I figured what the hell; it's about time I give something back to the DCC RPG community instead of just gobbling up all of the freebies. Here's the Link to the pdf: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9F0pyfarmViQXliRXYwMl9XeE0/view?usp=sharing And the Microsoft .pub file for t...

Re: Who handles the tables?
All of the players I've refereed get a copy of the excellent reference sheets from peoplethemwithmonsters.com, so they can quickly look up pertinent results, and then I reserve the right to adjust, adjudicate or narrate the results when I feel it's necessary (particularly with "mighty deeds&quo...

Re: Question about "The Balance Blade" conclusion
Hi Catseye Yellow (Interesting name, how did you come by it? I also like your Cat Lord picture from the old MM2). Your spot on here. It can be anything I want. That said, I have always enjoyed reading the thoughts of the author of an adventure. How would he have ruled it? Did such a thing occur in ...

Finally picked up Karl Edward Wagner's Kane stories on Kindle and just started diving in today - good stuff ... (I was tempted to go for the Nightshade omnibus edition, but it aint cheap!)

Tempting for sure, but I'm curious at how experienced your friend is at managing a production chain and fulfilling physical rewards. Frankly the prices seem too low and that worries me.

Re: Deity Disapproval & Luck Modifier
I'm pretty sure the answer is right there in the text. The "roll" is reduced, not the number of dice.

Re: Weapons Without Pluses
I'm not a fan of the +X magic items myself, but I still think it's nice for players to experience finding those types of items. So to compromise, I mostly get around this by injecting mundane items made from rare/special alloys; e.g. orichalcum, meteoritic steel, adamantium (i.e. tungsten). In the b...

Re: Race separate from Class
The way I figure it is that there are a million and one "elf games" out there so one of them should probably work for you without having to do all of the house-ruling and other crap. But hey, it's your game. So if house-ruling out race-as-class works for you and your group, then more power...

Re: Tales of the Fallen Empire and DCC campaign setting...
Any idea on when or where this fine product might be available in print? I was late to the party and missed the kickstarter, but after picking up the pdf a short while ago, this is definitely something I'd like to be able to hold in my hands.
In any case, awesome setting book.

Re: The Case AGAINST Elf Spellburn
If you look at Celtic mythology, they certainly have far more in common with each other than an elf and a man.Golgothmog wrote:I thought maybe that's where goblins come from... twisted, mutated elves.

Re: Dwarf vs Warrior
Any game master worth his salt will put stuff into his game that triggers the Dwarf's "smell gold" ability. So while they aren't technically as robust as the human warrior, getting to see in the dark and their other talents can make them stand out in a game. Also, it's probably worth notin...

Re: Appendix N Video games!
I see your point about the Daedra, but honestly dealing with them comes at almost zero cost to the player (and the world). If that game really wanted to be "Appendix N" there would have to be some much more severe consequences for dallying with the supernatural and infernal like that. Cthu...

With all due respect, Tamriel is about as much of bog standard high fantasy world as I can think of. In what way is Skyrim "weird" or "pulpy?"Desrimal wrote:Skyrim

Loved the spell-duel; definitely demystified it and made me feel more confident about refereeing it when it finally comes up.
P.s. Spellburn definitely needs more trash-talk in the future.

Re: multiple characters combineing for a skill check?
This is not meant to sound snarky in the slightest, but perhaps DCC isn't the right game for you? There's nothing wrong with that, because I think it's a somewhat poor choice of game for people who need a lot of explicit rules - especially when it's somewhat implicit that this game is geared towards...

Re: Divine Aid Disapproval Range
Disapproval resets (usually) at the start of the next day. From page 28: "When a cleric regains spells on the following day, his disapproval range is reset to a natural 1. Probably. Clerics who test their gods may find they are not always forgiving. So I guess my ruling would be that unless the...

I didn't back this and I can definitely appreciate the frustration but I guess this is why they say you can't treat Kickstarter like a storefront.

Re: Half-giant class (for Dark Sun or not)
I'd make armor sized to fit a half-giant cost twice to three times as much as normal (which is fair considering they're going to have buckets of hit points). I'd change the hit dice to something like 1d16 so its probability spread is linear rather than a normal distribution and 2d10 hit points per l...

Re: Druid - draft for review and comments
Great ideas. I'm trying to whip up my own Druid for DCC and make it stand out against the Wizard and Cleric classes. I'll try to remember to post my take on this class once I get it ironed out.
