Re: DCC Boxed Set
I'd much rather they produced more supplements and modules than the same rules I already have. Sorry, it's a neat idea but nothing I'd be interested in buying.

Re: Dice: generating "Zocchi results" using "normal" polyhed
Maybe I'm a fanboy, but it felt like part of the experience to me. I got to relive the part of my youth where I had to track down those funny new dice. Got them home and had to color them in, spent some time looking them over, and my friends all had to take a gander at them too. Felt like the early ...

Re: Multiclassing... would it make godlike characters?
If I was doing a Conan game in DCC, I would create an occupation table that listed the names of the peoples in REH's milieu as well as occupations. Within this context, Conan is trained in climbing because he is a Cimmerian, which matches well with what REH wrote. I like that a lot! You know, the o...

Re: Multiclassing... would it make godlike characters?
Conan climbed very sheer surfaces, as well as any thief. The Tower of the Elephant is an example. Other than that, he is quite good at stealth. But that is it for his thief skills. I don't recall him picking locks or backstabbing(even though he was good at killing quietly). Okay, so then he's a Thi...

Re: Multiclassing... would it make godlike characters?
Conan from the books. Excellent stealth skills and wall climbing, excellent fighter, but not a backstabber. That just makes him a warrior with an exceptional Agility. At least that is my take given the following: 1) Conan's background could be said to have included such skills and thus he is traine...

Re: Multiclassing... would it make godlike characters?
Sigh. How would you portray a ninja in DCC? (Include any ninja name reference here, since you seem to want names.) A thief? That's probably what I'd do. Don't you think however that a ninja class would better fit your character concept? Actually, I already, just a few days ago, gave an example on t...

Re: Multiclassing... would it make godlike characters?
A human sword-wielding magic-user would be an example: you could pick one or more levels in warrior for the weapon proficiency and then other levels in wizard for spellcasting. Wizards can use swords in DCC. So you have already failed to answer the question. And "sword weilding magic-us...

Re: Multiclassing... would it make godlike characters?
If one of my players brought this up, my very first question would be, "What archetype or character do you want to build that you cannot express with the core classes?" I think until that question was answered to my satisfaction, I wouldn't even consider multi-classing. I honestly don't li...

Re: Are Psionics to be like DCC Magic?
I have never understood why it needs a different system than magic in any game. Why call it something else if it's just magic again with different spell list? role playing? In all seriousness, I think too often gamers seek to create something new when what they want is already created for th...

It's not my first one.
I'll have loads of free time, trust me. My job on this leave is to occupy the toddler. He's got an early bedtime, and once he's in bed my job ends for the day.

Re: So, Broncosaurus Rex...is it extinct?
I'm totally honest when I say I would do it. Not totally for free, mind you, but cheap! And I do have extensive experience with Savage Worlds, and have converted several settings for personal use. I'm a college graduate with, at least decent communications skills, and I have a a minor game credit or...

Re: So, Broncosaurus Rex...is it extinct?
I got Broncosaurus Rex in my Grab Bag, and I have to say it's just screaming for a Savage Worlds conversion. Honestly, the thing that would keep it off my table is my lack of enthusiasm for GMing d20. It's too much prep work, and for a game like BR it's just not a great fit. By that I mean, a game w...

Re: What'z your favorite Dwarf look?
You guys, don't you get it? There's no male lead for the women to swoon over, so they had to make the dwarves skinny, hairless, and with abs...just like the Twilight "werewolves." You can't put fat guys in a movie unless they fall down and are comic relief. The handful of dwarves that ARE ...

Right now I like Rak and Tuk from Galtar and the Golden Lance.
Finding pics is hard tho. Rak is in the intro @ 22 sec.
http://youtu.be/rPLiSrKRWrg
They're a father and son team, and just very greedy and underhanded. They'll do anything for gold.

I just say that the last one left alive becomes level 1, or if somebody else has multiples they can give one to the player without any.

Kickstarter for d14s and d18s dice sets.
Impact Miniatures is looking to complete the even number sequences of the standard dice chain. They're also a company that looks for new ideas and ways to expand their business. Tell them you like this, and tell them to create some d3, d5, d7, etc dice as well. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/67...

Re: Curious about the DCC RPG crowd...
The 1980s with the Redbox. We first started doing it at Civil War reenactments. Then our parents saw the D&D boxes and went bonkers because role playing would lead to Satan worship, you know; they didn't see the irony of saying that in 19th century CSA uniforms. So then we just started doing it ...

Re: gunpowder weapons
And the earliest handguns appeared in the late 14th century. Here's a pretty neat little record of armor with dates. http://www.themcs.org/armour/14th%20century%20armour.htm You can see that what D&D calls "plate mail" doesn't show up until 1346. Which right around the time you get peo...

Re: gunpowder weapons
Robert E Howard, since you brought him up, included firearms in his Almuric stories. And D&D includes them in the Savage Coast setting in first edition. Also, about 400 years separates revolvers and full plate armor, about 10 years separate matchlock weapons and full plate armor. So it's ...

Re: Stomp the typo / Errata & FAQ
What has slightly ruffled my feathers is the speed with which the 2nd printing, and errata has been fixed. An odd statement. If the game hadn't been so popular, it would have taken a lot longer to sell out and thus would have taken a lot longer for a 2nd printing. And since there aren't many typos ...
