This year's tournament should be a real blast... A great adventure concept that should challenge even the most hardened veterans, and a set of characters I really enjoyed building -- they have all the "classic" skills and abilities, but with a few quirks and flavor of their own. I'm not su...

I'd have to go with Aerie of the Crow God (it did get nominated for an ENnie, after all), Crypt of the Devil Lich (a wonderful homage to old-school grindcore dungeons a la Tomb of Horrors) and Mysterious Tower....

WOW! I got a sneak peak at the module and was really impressed with the art work. The player handouts really fit with my vision of how the different scenes would look, and the art is top notch. I provided a few short descriptions and a couple scribbled sketches, and the end result is fabulous. I can...

Well... That Is A SECRET!!!

We're currently discussing level ranges, but I'm personally a strong proponent for a lower level adventure than Crypt of the Devil Lich (which was geared toward 15th level characters). It is much easier to ensure that characters are complete, accurate, equivalent and balanced when dealing with lower...

Since I generally throw one of the DCCs into my existing campaigns as side quests, they appear in Forgotten Realms... Granted, they are solid enough (and self contained enough) to fit anywhere.

As of right now all the PC concepts are equal in "power" -- they would be the same level, come equipped with the same amount of GP worth of gear, etc, and would all be quite useful to the adventure. I don't think prepping 6 balanced PCs is all that much more difficult than prepping only 4,...

As the writer of DCC 14, I'm also really looking forward to the art! It was a lot of fun to write, and was neat to submit some ideas for what I thought would make interesting scenes for the art... And even though I know the adventure by heart, I can't wait to crack this open the first time and thumb...

I sooooo better be able to get my hands on a copy of this... or I'll cry!!

And if I can get my hands on a copy, then the players in my group can cry!!!

The latter is far preferable.

Well, Save Vs. Death Ray, I can tell you my experience from working the booth this past year at Gen Con -- there was a great mix of new and old alike. I think a lot of people who played "old school" D&D and wanted to introduce 3rd edition to their own kids/nephews/younger friends wante...

That's what I like to hear! While I didn't have the honor of killing off -- ahem -- running the adventure for Clan Yeoman (I was DMing the *winning* team :)) I have to say that running Crypt of the Devil Lich was the best DMing experience I've ever had at a Con. Lots of action, lots of great people,...

DCC Tournament = Crypt of the Devil Lich = Anecdotes

Hey all, I'm trying to get some anecdotes together from the DCC Tournament we ran at GenCon 2004 in Indy. I had the pleasure of running seven of the Devil Lich sessions, and really enjoyed the wide range of people, tactics and ideas that appeared during the gaming sessions. Please share your favorit...

Glad everyone had fun!

Hey all, it's Jason Little... Many of you may remember me from Gen Con as one of the DMs for the Devil Lich tourney. I just wanted to say that I had a great time DMing at Gen Con, and thanks to all the players who stopped by! There were tons of great people, and each session had some very interestin...
