OOC: We may need to subdue Xim. Who's got rope?

OOC: Does anyone have any food?

OOC: Yes, let's rest. Honest John is going to see if he can't coax that dog out of that rubble pile first.

Honest John: "Come on boy. It's safe. We're not going to hurt you."

OOC: If we don't follow him he's probably going to get himself killed. Hmmmm... if we do follow him he'll probably get us killed. Argh!! We follow!

Honest John: "I'm not entirely certain but we found a nice spear while we were there."

Honest John: "Let's be going!"

OOC: Honest John inserts the medallion...

Honest John: "I think we're done here. Let's rejoin the others."

Red Robert: "YES!!! If we survive this I'm going to blow all of this in fantasy Las Vegas!!!"

OOC: Red Robert begins pocketing gold coins.

OOC: Oh. Well in that case we'll just save it. Red Robert will open the remaining chest.

OOC: Didn't someone get cursed earlier? Their action die was reduced to a d16 if I recall. Who was that? We should probably un-curse that character.

OOC: Red Robert grabs the tube and examines it. Is there anything inside?

Red Robert: "Nice pig sticker, Xim. Let us see what is hidden in these chests. John, be ready to get us out of here if I get a face full of poison gas or if the room starts filling with snakes."

OOC: Red Robert opens a chest.

OOC: I guess we're grabbing the spear.

Honest John: "Your words make a lot of sense, Xim. I propose a plan: I'll stand near this disk with the amulet. One of you grab the spear. If there's a trap I'll press the medallion to the disk and take us out of here. Otherwise we'll move on to the chests, same plan. What say you all?"

Honest John: "We're alive! By all the gods, we're alive! And in another place?"

OOC: Sooooooo, who wants to grab that spear?

OOC: Hmmm, I have an idea that may get us killed. Honest John (who is lawful!) is going to put on all the items and insert the medallion into the matching wall socket. I am reminded of an early episode of Battlestar Galactica where Adama did something similar on an Egypt themed planet. Honest John: ...

I agree, Shingen. In my campaign, which is set in a fantasy version of Norway, the elves and dwarves are very "nordic" in their feel. In fact, dwarves are almost unheard of anywhere else.

A 5th level cleric with only 15 hp?

Sometimes there are deals where when you but the print version they also give you the PDF but usually you have to get PDFs separately from DrivethruRPG/RPGNow. Goodman Games only offers a few PDFs on their store site.

Wow. I just realized that there is an illustration of the shadow beast and its pedestal in the back of the DCC RPG core rule book.

Red Robert: "All right! This looks interesting AND valuable!"

OOC: Red Robert examines the golden chainmail, necklace, and ring wearing skeleton. Is the chainmail intact? What does the medallion look like? The ring?

Elves, dwarves, and halflings seem distinctly out of place in S&S style settings. Definitely Tolkien-centric. I like the idea of other types of non-humans, though.
