Re: If and when the PC's Fail
Very cool, I am admittedly rather poor at coming up with my own campaign but it's my goal with the campaigns i'm running that if they miserably fail to try and keep the world going. So I may have to come up with something now that lets say the Chaos beast has arisen and is ruling this part of the wo...

Re: Race separate from Class
For me as a DM if the player really wants something not written in the book it will be on an individual basis. For instance if a player wants a monk then that's a short variation of warrior that's easy to handle. An off shoot of the racials is a bit different. In my games I look at it as cultures ha...

Re: Deed actions that would insta-kill an enemy
I would absolutely allow it because that is what makes the Fighter/Dwarf so cool. Also from reading through and messing around with People of the Pit the NPC's are just as likely to tentacle toss a PC into the pit so I think it all evens out in the end. If it's game breaking I understand that but gi...

If and when the PC's Fail
So i'm curious with DCC modules how many DM's have had parties miserably fail far enough into the module that it doesn't seem right to start up a new party to start the module? I ask because i'm prepping my campaign in that event of trying to run an adventure with the after-effects of their failures...

Re: DCC PbP?
Thank you sir i've been enjoying reading your campaign from the beginning. I an hoping to put out some feelers for a campaign of my own here today or tomorrow. Hopefully there's a decent fan base interested in pbp DCC.
Seeing the great community I think i'll be happy with the turn out.

Have any of you guys ever done something like The Looping Maze in a PbP format? I have some ideas but i'm always interested in tips from more experienced DM's

List of Adventure Reports
I don't know if this already exists and if it does I apologize but I thought it would be nice to have a series of links to everyone's adventure reports. We could have a mixture of links from these forums and various other sites people have posted them. As an avid fan of some of these read-through's ...

Re: *Spoilers* People of the Pit - Area 1-19 The Looping Maz
There are nods to Appendix N works in many GG DCC modules. I've been putting them in to the work I've done as well, with Purple Duck Games, in the patron book, and in the Squid Sorcerer project I am working on......they're just fun little "aha" moments if you know the work they refer to. ...

Re: *Spoilers* People of the Pit - Area 1-19 The Looping Maz
Look at the picture on page 10. I think that makes things pretty obvious. The maze is a flat design on the ground. It is made of inscribed black and white marble. You get shocked if you step on the black. The walls of the room are also made of black marble. Yeah the picture made me think that but t...

Re: Traps without a thief
Hello All, I have a party of 6 pc's and 2 0 level's but none of them are thieves. I am wondering how others of the community handle traps? Obviously removing them is only for a thief but I mean in regards to detecting traps. I'm tempted to give players a DC and a roll modified by luck but I was cur...

Hmm interesting call-out. I think it could be better explained in the module but it could be that i'm not the sharpest crayon in the box.

Re: Mixed Party Alignment
I would think most Chaotic deities would be okay with a priest healing his meatshield, as long as the end goal promotes entropy. Healing is an excellent tool for conversion. Sure, but that begs the question, is the cleric trying to convert the Lawful character? And, why is the Lawful character then...

Re: The People of the Pit party size question
Question: will People of the Pit work with a 'funnel' of 0-level characters? (i.e. 4 for each player, so about 32-40 PCs). Or does this adventure specifically need the abilities of 1st-level PCs (e.g. healing, thief skills, magic, etc)? Will it work? Possibly, but it will be a lot more brutal than ...

*Spoilers* People of the Pit - Area 1-19 The Looping Maze
Hello Fellow DCC'ers, I have a question to anyone who has read or run People of the Pit Area 1-19 The Looping Maze. I'm a little confused about the intentions of this maze and how it's setup. Is it a flat design on the ground that PC's have to walk around. Is it a tall marble maze with black walls a...

Re: Question about Automatic Critical via Spellburn
I'd also note that I would prefer some limit to spellburn via things like this: (nicked from that linked thread) 1 point: cut on your forearm 2 points: notch on your cheek 4 points: pry all hair from head 5 points: cut off a finger 10 points: cut off a hand 20 points: cut off a leg What characters ...

Re: The Worst Wizard Ever
Off-hand because I can't remember does your birth augur roll stay the same or move with your luck? Stays with original Luck. That's the RAW, but I allow it to float w/ Luck. Time will tell if that's a bad idea or not, right now I have no data to say either way. I'll probably stay strict with that. ...

Re: Mixed Party Alignment
I never liked the idea that alignments are straight-jackets with no room for variation. I look at the world around me and I see infinite examples of people with different alignments who cooperate for their mutual success, so I always felt that the game should allow for that as well. I think they sh...

11 Luck is entirely useful... can burn several points before incurring a meaningful penalty (and, really, -1 isn't that awful, either). yeah I honestly forgot about it when I was running. Re: The Worst Wizard Ever
I haven't had any luck burning. I admittedly didn't think about mentioning it but part of that is because the highest Luck in the 6 PC party is like 11 so I think at this point they are just happy they aren't being burned by their luck.

Re: Mixed Party Alignment
I think I may try and work out some RP reasons why his deity won't have a hissy fit if he heals a lawful character. Why?!?!?! That would damage the beauty of the DCC cleric write up! Let them live and learn. Let the cleric have to deal with disapproval! Let the Lawful character have to decide why h...
