Re: Anything coming down the pipeline?
i think there probably will be new adventures.
that said it seems that GG's plate is quite full with DCC lankhmar, 5e, OARs, regular DCC (there is #100 coming up), HC reprints, empire of the east, dcc x-crawl and not least DCC dying earth.
fingers crossed for more MCC

Re: Dying Earth - Turjan or Cugel
ah, yes failed to mention rhialto in the topic header. i love ALL DE stories but in some way rhialto is the most comical of three. not that it is bad but i prefer cugel. that said for actual gaming i would go for the turjan feel with helpings of cugel and smatterings of rhialto. cook under dying sun...

Ruin and Fear
I am curious: is anyone using ruin and fear mechanics from Transylvanian Adventures?
btw, that was nice book. i kinda disliked classes and loved almost everything else. whatever happened to the second book?

Re: DC Luck Check vs. Roll Under Luck Check
in the mask example i would go with the ref save and dc of the spell save is always set by the casting number.
that said i kinda ignore dc luck checks and always go with roll under. but that is the way i roll.

Re: Dying Earth - Turjan or Cugel
i would concur that cugel stories are more fun but some of the original set were also very interesting (like turjan's story and liane the wayfarer). also, maybe one could argue that the gap between sensibilities of the original set and latter cugel stories is literally the gap that exists between ho...

Re: Dying Earth inspirational art
This one is probably a little bit more dreamlike and 1001 nights but it is kaluta and you can imagine either t'sais or t'sain getting a hold of a flying carpet and flying things in the background could be pelgranes. i especially like her striking all-red outfit. dying earth is nothing if not the sty...

Here I'll post some stuff that I find on the netz that is, while not really direct depiction of Vance's work, i find stimulates related brain lobes. here is operatic and dream-like p. craig russell's avatar & chimera on the great the bronze age of blogs. https://bronzeageofblogs.blogspot.com/200...

Re: Saberhagen- Empire of the East DCC RPG
Has a revised release date been announced? I'm really interested in this as well. For me it's the most interesting DCC title in the last couple years. I contacted Goodman Games several months ago about an updated release date, and was just given a "we're announcing it soon" response. As f...

Re: Judge or something else
...judge is someone bound to higher law and ruling according to it... I'll be the judge of that! You're the Judge, because you adjudicate how things should be done. We aren't bound by anything but our sensibility on how the game should flow. Not even the rulebook has higher authority. It'...

Re: Judge or something else
is there more at play than just a simple naming convention? judge is someone bound to higher law and ruling according to it while master is obviously someone who is sovereign in his will.
bear with me i am in isolation.

Judge or something else
i am totally into DCC except for one little thing: i am still calling myself Dungeon Master and not Judge. simply i am always like i am mastering this and that and also dungeon master has such a good ring to it. anyone else has this "problem"?

Re: Dying Earth
i did screen captures of DCC Dying Earth stuff besides gorgeous cover that Doug did. They are incedible: in order doug, erol otus, russ nicholson and sanjulian. if GG sees any legal hurdles in posting this here i'll gladly take it down but HYPE! https://ibb.co/Njjgbsn https://ibb.co/VCqKZW5 https://...

Re: Dying Earth
wow, just saw on goodman twitch channel covers for DE. we already knew that doug hit a home run on this one but the list of creators slated for three main books (inside boxed set) and adventures (lankhmar style) is incredible. go there and check art by erol otus, russ nicholson and SANJULIAN! https:...

Re: Dying Earth
np. can't wait for the finished product.
in a way DE now even seems more perfect fit for a DCC than Lankhmar.
let's keep fingers crossed for DCC Young Kingdoms in the future.

Re: Dying Earth
vort you were epitome of a DE character in that playtest we did together. you eloped admirably while putting whole kingdom to sleep yet losing the one thing we came to get. i mean it was literally vanceian ending down to a deodand. i had my doubts about how well will DCC emulate DE but after that al...

Re: Favourite Lankhmar adventure?
I've run gang lords twice. it is open ended, sandboxy and can turn very violent. in fact it is more medieval richard stark than leiber but i really enjoyed both runs. first time PCs gave up and ran out of city just to barge right into [SPOILERS] mingol ambush [SPOILERS] and then escape via ningauble...
