Re: The Snyggdra
Thanks for pointing this out! I didn't remember this exactly. Looks like the RAW don't kill you when you reach an ability score of 0, just make you unconscious or otherwise useless. Do you think the Snyggdra killing someone with ability drain is too harsh? Basically as it is written now, it makes y...

Support the Purple Sorcerer!
Hi All, Purple Sorcerer Games is having its annual pledge drive at this link . In order to keep all online tools and apps free, the annual drive is necessary to cover publishing costs, server costs, and testing equipment. The proposed projects for next year's web tools and Crawler's Companion are hi...

Re: Sand Serpent
or…. it would be funny too if for some reason the cosmic overlords smiled at mortals being swallowed alive by sand serpents and actually granted a luck bonus if the adventurer could survive to see the light of day. Wait, did that elf just get a luck bonus? What do I need to roll to dive into the wo...

Cool, thank you guys! I appreciate it. I ran The Blood-Drinking Box tonight, we didn't get through the whole thing but I am not sure if the handout can be used now. No, I was too late. The handout was for the mystic bridge, what you called "guano walkways." The PCs loved Emirikol and want...

Re: Road Crew New York 2014: The Chaotic Overworld
I will be running the free RPG day adventure tonight. My PCs are levels 2 and 3, and this is a level 1 adventure. I'm inclined to just leave the monsters as-is and just bump up their hit points to max and see if that is challenging enough. I don't want tonight to be deadly, but i do want it to feel...

Re: Free RPG Day!
In an rpg I think the "feel" of it is much more important than minutiae. Every game becomes a whole other thing in it's performance and that performance is out of the writers hands. Even the Dm doesn't always dictate how well a game will go, but I think that's what we all like about RPGs ...

Re: Free RPG Day!
Ran the 2014 Free RPG Day adventure for 4 people then two more jumped in later. Lots of luck burned, lots of mercurial magic, lots of fun. Running Elzemon was great! The Cleric keep trying to banish him just to shut him up! Lost four poor souls that dreadful day. Muwahahahahha! Though that one darn...

An enjoyable game. Four players (3 of my regulars made it and we were joined by a community member who will surely have his own comments and maybe even a picture). This is a fun adventure, and you should be proud. Only one fatality (and that due to an attempt to open the box), but several "dea...

I gotta tell you Pesky- I thought the same thing. I just never thought to bring it up. I thought to myself- "No way. Cant be. You are being silly." It didn't occur to me until one of my players brought it up. It's awesome to think of Hugh doing a Rip bit, or vice versa. Perhaps Hugh will ...

Is Hugh the Barbarian inspired by Rip Taylor?
This is mostly a question for Doug Kovacs, but I thought I'd post it here so we can weigh in our theories. Our beloved Hugh the Barbarian: http://www.goodman-games.com/images/FRPGD14CoverLarge.jpg bears a striking resemblance to Rip Taylor: https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSGu_q...
