Re: Disappointed with the FLGS in regards to DCC RPG.
Wowzers, I feel spoiled now! My game store is awesome. They let me run any games I want to, whether the game is in print or not (Although I currently run DCC, I started out running 1974 OD&D). They help me promote the games I run, and get me good quality players and steer away the weirdos. I hav...

Re: VTT Rule Set
I know it doesn't answer your actual question, but I've run games on Google+ hangouts with no fancy tech other than the video chat. People just roll their own real dice on the table in front of them (honor system). Works great!

Re: The DCC RPG Economy. I think the prices are off.
The game is about adventuring first and foremost, so when it comes to economic matters, the question "does it work?" is more important than "does it make absolute perfect sense?" I've never once had a player balk at a price on an equipment list. If I ever did come across someone ...

Re: DCC with Rise of the Runelords - madness?
I've run a lot of Pathfinder content using DCC characters in the level 1-6 range. You don't really need to do anything except perhaps the occasional on-the-fly tweak or judgement call when you don't feel like looking up some Pathfinder rules detail.

Re: 3.5 to DCC Character Level Conversion
I would encourage trying to use the material without any conversion whatsoever. I've used monsters and adventures from the following systems in DCC without converting anything up front: * AD&D * Labyrinth Lord * 3E * Pathfinder (I actually use the Bestiary 2 quite a bit.) It's actually really ea...

Stupid Dice Tricks: Ability Checks
ABILITY CHECKS The two most common ways I think are "roll a d20 (or possibly some d6's) equal or under your ability score" or "roll d20+ability modifier, meet or beat a target number". The latter I believe is the default for DCC, except for Luck checks which use the former. I do...

[Request] Alternate Spell System
I think it would be cool to have an inexpensive digest booklet with a complete but simplified spell set. Here are my ideas: * no more than 12 spells per level for wizards and 8 per level for clerics (I.e. 100 total spells or less) * each spell takes up a single page (which is actually a half-page si...

Re: Links to DCC RPG Resources, updated 6/21
Hey everybody. I've been re-typing the spells that span multiple pages in the DCC PDF to get them to fit on a single page. So far I've got the 1st-level cleric and wizard spells done, and I will be adding the rest in the coming weeks as I get a chance to work on them. You can access them from here: ...

Beautiful boxed set. Haven't gotten a chance to look at it too closely, but at a glance the monster and treasure sections look to have some good stuff.

Re: What do you use for a campaign?
I've been running games in my sandboxy setting for maybe a year or so. It originally started with just the basic premise of B2 Keep on the Borderlands, although modified quite a bit. The keep has become "The Outpost", and it's much crappier than the original version. Everything is made of ...

I can't find a pamphlet or booklet setting for my printer Okay, so I kept at it and think I found the right setting. Fingers crossed. I'll print off some pages at work tomorrow and see how they copy. 8) Next questions: How do I get them stapled nice? Seriously, if you are a do-it-yourself ki...

I guess the main thing is the separation of race and class. I like to do a bit more of a science-fantasy sort of thing. Hopefully this stuff will inspire some new ideas for you guys!

Anything that's fantastic is fair game in my book. I just picked up some old RIFTS books, and I hope to get some good ideas from them.

Re: DM screen/player booklet soon?
The good news is that it's easy to print the spells into a booklet. ...if you have the pdf. Only the pre-orders got a free copy of the pdf of the game. Those coming along later will have to buy that, too, if they want such a copy. I pre ordered, so I'm in the clear, but it would be nice to see a pr...

My White Plume Mountain adventure was a lot of fun, and I think I sold a copy or three of the game. Spider Climb misfire resulted in the thief and hobbit walking on the ceiling for an hour, which made some things really interesting.

I made some premades for the White Plume Mountain adventure I am running on Free RPG Day. They are level 5, with (almost) no magic items and minimal equipment. There are two of each human class and one of each demi-human class. Hopefully somebody else gets some use out of them, because I spent a LON...
