Re: DCC Tournament Year Five

Yes, I have a question - given the recent financial troubles of GenCon LLC, will Peter be able to afford your services as hall monitor again this year?

Re: GenCon - Dungeon Crawl Wednesday!

For anyone interested, here is the link to my 4th edition dungeon crawl at the RAM on Wednesday afternoon: http://community.gencon.com/forums/p/15340/176087.aspx#176087 If you want to sign up, just post! NOTE: this is different from the Dungeon Crawl Wednesday night event that we've been talking abo...

Do you know the sales numbers on the C&C modules & conversions? Nope. I'm not on the Goodman staff...I'm just a loud-mouthed fan. ;) I'm guessing that they're good enough to continue producing the occassional adventure for them...I'm not sure if they are good enough to support GG's business...

So what's the backup plan if there's no OGL/GSL? Joseph has still given every indication that when the GSL is offered, Goodman will jump on board...so unless WOTC intends to withdraw the offer, I'd still expect GG to go that direction. BUT...for the sake of rampant speculation and rumor (which, adm...

BTW, any suggestions on module level? Na...just pick out something that you could run if you need to...levels don't matter much. Keep in mind, we're looking to fit the adventure into a 4 hour time slot, so anything that could be completed in the time frame is preferrable. The adventure that I'll be...

Just a quick update: Registration for my Wednesday afternoon game at the RAM will start April 11th. If you're interested, check back here...I'll post a link. Registration is pretty informal (on the GenCon forums). Still waiting to hear from the GenCon folks regarding our Wednesday night Dungeon Craw...

I had always used the search function to look for specific DCC threads...

I do think the idea has merit (not sure if it will be difficult to moderate though, or if it would be too cumbersome to have folders for each module). I like the idea of a specific "Story Hour" folder.

I understand that you are looking for space on Wednesday evening for 8pm start and the Ram is a different (earlier) event. We will be looking to play that evening and will stand by for location. Sounds good. I'm trying to get a generic listing for the event (something like "5 tables. All dunge...

Nova Wastrels (at least some of them) from Northern Virginia would like to join you at the Ram on Wednesday evening. We're driving in but should be available by 1700 or so. Cool. I have a game running earlier at the RAM, but we won't be able to organize anything else there (I think the owner wants ...

Celtar and I are currently discussing what edition we will be playing for the Wednesday night events. I am fairly against 4e right now because I have not seen anything that I really feel is 4e in what they have shown. I will not speak for Celtar, but he is a bit more open about it than I am. At wha...

Rather than produce their own seperate system (using the 3.5 OGL), I wouldn't be surprised if Goodman supports both 4E and the Paizo 3.5 offshoot.

I'll be looking at Eldritch as well, since I'm curious.

I can't. My crystal ball was changed in 4E. Now I have to roll to hit with it, it works as a per encounter ability, and only divines 1 encounter into the future.

Hell...I think you could probably get an e-sized plot done at Kinkos. It's well worth the extra money to avoid having to cut edges and tape it together. Although, if expense is an issue, printing them out on 8 1/2 X 11 is the way to go.

Message for prospective GMs

We have two options here: 1. play in the open gaming area. We won't be guaranteed tables, but we won't have to hassle with registration or getting descriptions ahead of time 2. register with GenCon. the events will all be listed in the event booklet for Wednesday gaming. We'll be guaranteed seating,...

Looks like GenCon is releasing event lists early, and in phases. They released a small initial list today...which happens to contain the DCC tournament description (sounds like an awesome event is planned for this year, by the way): http://community.gencon.com/forums/t/14902.aspx I know this questio...

Our group name from past dcc tourneys is fish in a barrel. Definitely. We can always make room for more players. ...

I'd love to see a Goodman 4E DM screen. If you could incorporate something like the Paizo combat/initiative pad (the one with the magnets) for 4E, I would be so pleased that I'd throw sweaty wads of rolled up cash at Joseph Goodman.
