Re: DCC Tournament Year Five

Man...I'm all geeked out about the tournament again...only a month away!!

Do we have a title yet? "The Curse of the Warbringer"?

I would definately like to game with this crowd.
Yep. Drop in, and we'll try to make room for you. The tickets are already sold out, but we're trying to muster more GMs to accomodate everyone wanting to play. We should be able to do it.

Looks like a lot of fun, Ken. I'm loving the set-up that you have on "The Peril"!

Re: GenCon - Dungeon Crawl Wednesday!

Alright...in an effort to get organized (and an attempt on my part to make sure that we have enough GMs), I've started a seperate GMs thread here:

http://www.goodman-games.com/forums/vie ... f=1&t=4906

Anyone who has expressed an interest in GMing, please drop by and make a post.

Thanks!

GenCon - Dungeon Crawl Wednesday - GMs thread

I'm creating a thread for all of the potential GMs to post in. For those just dropping in, you can find the original thread here: http://www.goodman-games.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=3294&st=0&sk=t&sd=a All of the tickets sold out, so at the very least we'll be running 5 tables. ...

Shelfari!!

Anybody hear of Shelfari? A friend of mine introduced me to it...kinda like a MySpace for bookworms. I don't normally sign up to those things, but I rather like it. If anyone wants to form a GoodmanGames Readers Group, let me know. It would be nice to have other scifi and fantasy suggestions availab...

Re: Songs for an improvement of mood

Been doing a chunk of writing lately, and the soundtrack to the PS2 game God of War has been some pretty pulse-pounding background music and quality voice acting. I'm sure that has nothing to do with the DCC tournament... and since I'm a bit late to the thread - I second the Flogging Molly suggesti...

Re: Aereth and 4E

How can I get a copy of Punjar: The Tarnished Jewel if I'm not attanding any gaming events? Since I'm probably going to use this as my base city and use Sellswords of Punjar as the first adventure, I'd like to get a copy of this..... Are you still in Berea, Ken? Careful...if you stay there long enough, you might be there when we finally make the move. Yes...selling a house is always fun.

Re: GenCon - Dungeon Crawl Wednesday!

I'd be interesting in playing. Also, I'd like to put in for running DCC #13 - in the touney mode. Just a group to see how well they would've done. Any interest for that? Noted: At a glance.. it doesn't seem there is any space, tickets etc... for an official event or anything. So - would anyone be i...

Re: Campaign Report: DCC#1 Rat King

Hmmm...really? I haven't looked at the recommended XP. I don't use modules for my games (just for one-shots)...and if I did, I wouldn't give out much XP. I'm notoriously stingy. I like my campaigns to have a gritty, low magic feel. Yeah, I'd trim down the XP some, fit in another low level adventure ...

Re: Campaign Report: DCC#1 Rat King

Actually, my first suggestion would be to put another module (or two) between Idylls and Revenge of the Rat King. That way, it will be more of a surprise that their old nemesis has returned. Revenge is a neat adventure, by the way. It has some great descriptive text that makes the adventure come ali...

Re: GenCon - Dungeon Crawl Wednesday!

Thanks Wyrm! You da man! PM me and we'll work out what adventure you'd like to GM.

Any more takers?

We'll only use the extra GMs as we need them (but if everyone shows up, it looks like we will need an extra table or two).

Re: GenCon - Dungeon Crawl Wednesday!

Since it seems as though several groups that had wanted to attend couldn't snag the tickets in time, are there any players that would be willing to GM if they're needed? I can provide an adventure if you need one. Any takers?

Re: GenCon - Dungeon Crawl Wednesday!

Hey Mr. Murlock! Well, we registered the event with GenCon (so that we're guaranteed table space), and it also had the added benefit of getting more people to attend (in case some groups that posted didn't show up). Well...I underestimated the popularity of a free dungeon crawl event. Everything sol...

GenCon - Judges game

Alright, by popular request, we'll be giving the judges a chance to sit down and play. In order to avoid scheduling conflicts (Wednesday's judges gathering, Thursday's Beercon, and Adrian's pajama party), we're tenatively shooting for Friday evening (sometime after the last round of the DCC tourname...

True old school is taking white paper, staining it with coffee/tea... Naw...that would be the character sheets...with sections of the paper worn through from years of eraser marks. I have a friend who keeps an old character sheet from my first campaign (that I ran when I was in college)...man, is t...

Options.

Heh.

I'll merely say that we're deciding between old school, really old school, and avante garde.
Would "really old school" be having the players sketch out the maps themselves on sheets of worn-out graph paper? ;)

Re: GenCon - Dungeon Crawl Wednesday!

Yeah...everyone definitely show up. We counted on 6 to a table, so we could probably go 8 to a table if need be. If we don't have enough space, we might be able to form another table in open gaming. We'll figure it out. As for where it is being held...good question. Once I have the info, I'll post a...

We're still weighing some options about the battlemaps this year. Rest assured that if we go with pre-printed ones, you'll be the first asked to make 'em up for us.
