Re: Isle of the Sea Drake Questions

Glad you dig the adventure.

The Thirsty Grandmother is technically a kind of bizarre vampire, but I just based her stats and abilities off a viscera devourer (or one of the other devourers).

She was a last-minute addition to the adventure, but I like her a lot.

Re: Frickin' spam

Thanks!
I'm manually screening all would-be members of the board, which means I spend about a half-hour per day deleting spam accounts.
Some very clever ones may slip through, but it should - SHOULD - be a whole lot less.
When we update the board next it should get even easier.

Re: Year Six Tournament: Scroll of Ruin

I wish you luck finding that recruit.
If you have no luck, you can refer to the pool of unattached gamers I'll have at the tournament booth, in the lobby of the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

See you in...what...ten days? Nine, now? Yikes.

Re: America's Favorite Game Store

Gary, sorry that happened. In our ongoing battle against spam, it looks like some people didn't get activated right away. I can't say why yours was one of those. It had nothing to do with "limiting our voting." I've taken over those responsibilities, and I spent three hours today going ove...

Re: Year Six Tournament: Scroll of Ruin

In previous years we've had teams do very well with just 3 participants. To answer your questions, though, you cannot double-up characters and we don't down-scale the adventure if you've only got 4 with you (that would be hard to do on-site). Fathead has a point about quality vs. quantity of player....

Re: Map Errata

The errata thread is where we store the errata. The only serious issues with CW is that the maps got rotated (in post-production, incidentally, so after the playtests) and that we forgot to include an entrance to level 6B, which was a miscommunication between my co-author and myself. I've updated th...

Re: Castle Whiterock milestone

Lore Master and Seer are both from the Aereth boxed set. They are a two-feat chain that reduces the spell level adjustment of metamagic feats by one each. So Geviss, with both feats, could cast a Quickened (normally +4) lightning bolt (3rd level spell) as a 5th level spell (instead of a 7th level sp...

Re: The DCC Tournament Needs You!

Goodman Games would like to thank the GMs who have responded so far to our search for tournament Judges! We still have one (exactly ONE) slot left on the team. If you think you can pass the dreaded Judge Test and are interested in seeing the tournament from the other side of the screen, contact me a...

Re: GenCon 2009

OK, the ten-part teaser for the 2009 tournament is finished. This one is shaping up nicely. We even got Clan Yeoman to playtest for us (sadly, they won't be able to compete this year), so you can expect extra helpings of bloodshed and deviousness! You can view the teaser here: http://www.goodman-gam...

The DCC Tournament Needs You!

The DCC Tournament team is looking to fill out its Judge roster with one or two final members for Gen Con Indy. If you think you've got lethal dice, the inner tranquility of a Zen master, and the 4E rules tech of a pro DM there is no better chance to prove it than to Judge for the DCC Tournament. In...

PART NINE: STASIS Over the next several hundred years, numerous attempts were made to destroy the Scroll of Ruin. It has been chopped at with the most potent magic weapons, it has been targeted by the most destructive spells, and it has been the focus of divine ire. The Scroll of Ruin was twice drop...

Fortunately I just finished my Banish Spammer ritual. It had a casting time of about two weeks, and I kept blowing the Computer Use check to make it work, but it's done now.

We should be clean for a while.

Re: Isle of the Sea Drake Questions

My original manuscript was eaten by my desktop PC when it suffered critical hard drive failure a while back, so I'm working from memory here. I think it was an encounter that had critters - maybe a hippogriff? maybe beetles? - feeding on a zombie. I know I had an encounter where something was eating...

I can see why that encounter is confusing. Filth Spewer Spigots The spigots are NOT on the fountain, as the Countermeasures text states. They are set into the ground at the locations marked "1." They can only attack creatures in their square. (Think of them like high-pressure, necrotic spr...
