Re: Slavers documents

I have put two documents together. One is lifted almost verbatim from the Slavers series, the other a decent note that is very specific to our campaign and, really, the loot of our next adventure. It is difficult to imagine a place where these types of documents could be stored for use and modificat...

Slavers documents

Would appreciate your help, if possible. I will be sending the party against some slavers and wonder if someone has a link or stockpile of miscellaneous documents slavers would be sharing back and forth. Anything like how many went from here to there, decent prices, conditions and such. I wish to hi...

Re: DCC 17.5 question

Let me get to the end of the story first. We had a rocking good time, it was very exciting, the challenges were challenging, death was at hand as the party strength was winding down. Everything was great right to the very end. I will try not to make this a simple recounting of our campaign. I focuse...

Re: DCC 17.5 question

Area 2-10 is a very neat setting that poses a cool problem for the party to consider. In our case, the setting is entirely geared towards water elementals. So, I am changing the BoneDevil that is provided to water elementals. I found a picture (searchable under water archons, wave elementals - you w...

Re: DCC 17.5 question

I only have interest in using the 2nd & 3rd floors of this module. The party got to Homlett and had a chance to meet three people; two of varying degrees of St. Cutherbert and one ftr/thf. They opted for the middle of the road (second St. C guy) who professed knowledge of the underground ruins o...

Re: Classic D&D Module: B1 and B2. Anyone seen it?

To me, this begs the question; what would you do differently, particularly if you "craving something of a very fancy update". I later years I started to really expand on each group, including properly populating the church. The biggest difference I recall implementing was space. B2 has so ...

Re: Finding A Curse

You have answered my needs perfectly. As a DM I always want to be clear of the rules so as to make a ruling that is consistent with our environment, and, had been troubled by whether there was something readily available to detect curses. Like most DMs I have played under I am very liberal with 'ide...

Finding A Curse

Let's say a piece of treasure had a curse on it. How could a party discover this without triggering the affect?

I am looking to provide a curse crown and would like to be comfortable in thinking the party has a chance of discovering this.

Re: DCC 17.5 question

Just to follow along on that., as I would not mind your opinion, I have a problem with instant party deaths but not if there are chances to get out of the situation. For example, I will completely disregard the completely random Phantasmal Killer affect when you enter level 3 because I find it total...

Re: Adventure for two characters?

I recently DMed #29 Revenge of the Rat King with three people and that went very well with no adjustments required. If you look through that module there are few big fights that take place, leaving plenty of room for three to exercise their skills.

Re: DCC 17.5 question

I am currently looking through this module for my regular, everything to do with Olhydra, adventure. Our next step is to go to Homlett, which is so named mostly to tease me. I would love to throw my party into an extensive dungeon crawl but that is not how we are built, and so, quickshot adventures ...

Re: Charm Person and the Carnifex (spoilers)

To address one of the suggestions above, and, a question-ish back to you; if the party is successful in releasing the Carnifex I would like to have her give the party a spot of treasure before she 'escapes'. I'm thinking she gives them a scroll that once read will have an assassination attempt made ...

Also, is there a specific resource that details god's in general? I enjoy having in the least a model to base myself upon. Currently scanning the web for information on the Carnifex and only finding a large insectoid.

Re: Charm Person and the Carnifex (spoilers)

I am planning to run this campaign neexxt weekend, Osu, and have a few needs to make this happen. Is it possible to borrow off of your preparation? And, to address your point, I would not have allowed the save to work, or perhaps, only on the roll of a 1 and even then it would have works for as man...

Re: Betrayal response

I like the paranoia aspect and the sharing of many notes. I often provide direct notes giving a note to everyone every time, and try to have the same delivery pattern (start at dealer's) left) with some notes saying only 'have a nice day). This completely inhibits too much tipping of the hand and fe...

Re: What DCC for a pirate/nautical campaign?

We had a great session and it is super how there is a balance between hack & sack, puzzles and politics. But that is not what this forum is for. I did not like the Deadly for how it finished off with Tritonecil and so adopted the Secret Smugglers' Cover. I am a big fan of how this module breaks ...

Re: What DCC for a pirate/nautical campaign?

We play on Saturday and I wanted a tip on two things. Both are on level 5 of the Smugglers Cove. Room 5-2 has the green slime that does 1-3 points of constitution damage. How long does this last. Room 5-8 has the sunken ziggurat. The description set up says; there are a bunch of fish men atop the zi...

Re: Rogues and Martialists

Yes, first edition play that is totally open to good ideas. One the I love about DCC 3 & 3.5 is the amount of hit points "monsters" have but that is another story. I was thinking Rogue was some variation of thief, never explored, and, then wondered whether I was playing them right. Yes...

Rogues and Martialists

This is two things; one I do not know, the other i am moving towards. One; what are rogues and do they have anything nifty about them? I have seen them just kind of appear, have no idea which edition they belong to and want to understand. To be clear, I like thieves and reject outright they need to ...

Re: Revenge of the Rat King

We had a delightful side adventure with parts 2 & 3 of this serving as the main course. It was fun to see how bad rolls worked out well, the party used sufficient skills, and then good rolls returned. To get the party to the torture chamber I created a little encounter where they individually fa...

Re: Classic (A)D&D Modules Ideal for DCC

I like this topic idea and wish to suggest that it has not received appropriate attention nor a good response. It would be easy to list any number of greatest adventures and go "Me Too!!" Perhaps a better way to answer is, how. How would you take a classic and DCC it? Okay, then; I have se...

Actually looking for miniatures, too, just for my characters; and, painted.

The otherworld people mentioned above look pretty good. I found a bunch for 5 pounds (8.30 in my world).

Any other places that are trustworthy?

Re: Revenge of the Rat King

About to run this one again. Kendo (martial artist) and Courage Kettleboom (mage), both 6th level, want a little side adventure. They will visit a town, Homlett, knowing something is worthy of an adventure, get in a scrap and wake up in their cell next to the torture room. The adventure is light whi...
