Writer Q & A - Jay Little
Greetings, all. In addition to answering questions on the individual Goodman Games forums, Joseph was kind enough to create this Adventure Design forum for aspiring writers and GG regulars to talk about Adventure Design and writing. I hope the other writers will follow suit and open up a thread dedi...

Not related to the original question, but a GenCon question in general... For the XCrawl tourneys (which are completely full in terms of registration), if one of the players doesn't show will Generic Tickets be accepted? Sorry this took so long to respond - I only saw this post now. I am conferring...

Yep - big thanks to Adrian for working so hard to fix the problems posed by the original room assignments and the printing errors GenCon made regarding both the Xcrawl and DCC tournaments. I cannot stress this following point enough -- if you have ANY questions about the tournaments, your time slot ...

And yes it was the golem guarding the ring. We made it past that room searched around and then decided to go back. It was the last thing we decided to do. Hehe.... Ordo the Paragon of Law was one of my contributions to the module. He is beatable - but he is a tough nut to crack. Seeing his stats an...

Early Buzz on GenCon's Xcrawl Tournament - PhoenixCrawl Open
http://linnaeus.wordpress.com/2007/07/23/phoenix-open/ My good friend Gerald Cameron, one of the playtesters and editors who helped provide some great feedback on the PhoenixCrawl module, wrote about it in his latest blog. He really enjoyed the sneak peak, and talks a bit about the product line. His...

Things have been developing rather nicely, from what I've seen. The PCs are going to present some tough decisions for the players -- I think most folks will have a hard time keeping some of them off the roster. Round 1 has some interesting twists that haven't appeared in a previous DCC tourney, and ...

there weren't any old school creatures that really engaged me as a player that had a distinct psionic threat. From MM1 - brain mole, couatl, all demon lords, all demons Type II and up, Succubus, all archdevils, horned devil, ice devil, pit fiend, intellect devourer, ki-rin, mind flayers (obviously)...

Thanks for posting that updated pic, Joseph - and sorry to all for any confusion that caused. Good catch on Jarson Tender's racial ambiguity... At least for the second printing we fixed Spineshank's racial mixup -- being referenced as both gnome and human in several areas. That's what I get for chan...

i really like the thieves' guild sort of idea. the thieves' guild concept is a pretty classic fantasy trope... and it makes for all sorts of interesting ideas -- whether it be to recover some artifact from a dangerous lair or to break into a rival guild base and kidnap their leader... gosh, even if ...

The core XCrawl rulebook does not include the character creation guidelines or the player class listings (other than the new XCrawl class The Athlete). It contains new spells, equipment, feats and skills - but all the default information is still in the PHB... Bottomline -- you still need access to ...

What about the athlete to play up the crowd? I struggled with this, and Brendan and I discussed it... I love the Athlete, but its role and significance is easily overlooked by people not as familiar with XCrawl. My fear was people would dismiss it because it is so unlike any of the other characters...

The GenCon XCrawl Tournament is a 3-round event. If your team advances from Round 1 to Round 2, event slots will be posted. Likewise, if you are one of the lucky, intrepid teams to survive and advance from Round 2 into the Finals, you will reconvene for the Final round of the tournament - after whic...

I'm so glad I came back to re-read this whole thread. I'm also pleased to see so many Interludes elements strung through with the...
