...tumble rather roughly, and attempt to regain thier feet before the creature is upon them!

Sighting the abomination closing on Deepwell, Brother Mordecai has an idea... Mordecai: "Does anyone have a torch? Mr. Hammon, light that sack of offal and toss 'er down before that beast! We've got to buy 'im some time!" Mordecai grasps for any offered torch and lights the sack of nights...

Smilin' Lyle slips down the rough passage, landing in a heap with his head at an odd angle from his body, ironic smile frozen on his face.

Lyle starts down... AGI=9 Lyle: :shock: Is that Lyle falling, or Lyle realizing he's not cut out for climbing with only a 9 AGL? :lol: (Either way, it's funny.) HA! Falling, I suppose. Lyle is good to explore the gap at hand, as he'd stared down it previously, as long as someone going in has light.

Brother Mordecai and Mr. Hammon will offer to join any expedition deeper in to join Rockla and seek the source of the corruption.

Once there is light, brother Mordecai announces to the torchbearer: Mordecai: "Let there be LIGHT! If you'd lead the way, good sir, we'd be obliged to see nothing snuff that torch or its bearer!" Mordecai and Hammon draw their meager weapons and take up defensive flanking positions around ...

Mr. Hammon dusts himself off after the fall, and he and Mordecai scan the floor of the room for sign of the creature or another like it.

I assume lighting is poor here without infravision?

If there's an obvious connection I can make between a Patron a player has/wants and a module I want to run, I tie these things together. I see Jewels of the Carnifex as an easy one for someone who wants The Raven Queen or another death god, whereas any Patron could require a magic such-and-such from...

With that, he hurries to join those gathered on the stairs.

Lyle agrees but wants to peer over the jagged edge before committing to the stairs out of insatiable morbid curiosity.

Lyle, also happy to be done climbing, will scramble into the doorway. Drawing his razor, he peers down the hall for any threats- or anything valuable!

Lyle, quietly: "Might wanna keep an eye out for more a them slimeballs- beastie came from somwhere..."

Lyle is with Ray in trying that door, and says as much as long as Rurik (and anyone else on this tether) agrees

He would've tied onto the rope if possible, but that'll probably end poorly considering...I imagined he would've tied onto the one rope Rurik is on, along with Ray and whomever else is doing that.
Can I burn 1 Luck for a 3?

...Of those climbing, are they free-climbing, or are they tied into pairs of climbers, etc? If Rurik isn't too far down and doesn't object, Lyle will try to tie himself somewhere near the middle of the rope and suggest Ray tie on the end. And it won't be a STR check we make, but keep those dice war...

Emboldened by the two dwarves, Lyle prepares to climb down as well

Lyle: "Well, that rope won't get all th'way din to th'floor anyhow, so here goes nothin'..."

Lyle takes the rope as well and braces himself, then calls down to Rurik:

Lyle: "How's it look down thar? Can we make it down, y'think?"

Lyle: " Outa dangle someone who can see in the dark over the edge- see what he can. Me? I wanna try scalin' down the wall there, me. We c'n s'cure ourselves t'gether wit da rope, an this." He holds out the length of chain, with a smile that should already begin to irritate some a little.

Lyle searches the wall for the mechanism... INT-1=2...and failing that, lays out the 10'chain.
Lyle: "Think this'll be handy fer the climb? Could link a couple o' the less...er...climby... blokes t'gether, fer safety an' all that rot, yea?"
