Re: Ganelith's Bloody Veil -- Level 1 complete!

Great work very inspiring. Thanks! This makes me think that when calling a patron the chart involved should be kept a secret from the players. Only the DM should know what could possible go wrong. I agree, and that's what I have planned for any patrons, really. I actually assumed that's how the gam...

Re: Next two covers

even before I read and digested the beta ruleset, the art in the PDF and (even moreso) the cover art for the modules had me sold. Love the work so far -- content and art.

I should mention that I'm currently running a group of level 3 characters through this... dunno if they'll survive or not.

Re: Couple of Homebrew Magic Items

Oh...and this might be a little bit over the top...

Potions of Health

These potions were created by a lesser minion of Urgu Fel. Though each heals 8+1d3 hit points, the imbiber must make a Fortitude save (DC 10+hp healed) or temporarily lose 1d3 STR.

Re: Ganelith's Bloody Veil

And the intro/hook --------------- The Bloody Veil In ancient days, the Bloody Veil was a portal between various realms of Hell to the mortal world. During the Age of Fiends, adherents of the Cherek, the demi-god of bears and the North, assaulted the gate and sealed it; building a shrined to the bea...

Ganelith's Bloody Veil -- Level 2 Complete!

Here's some junk I'm working on for our next adventure. It's a bit of a "file the serial numbers off" hack job using the Dungeoneer card game. Funny, the first thing I thought when I read through DCC for the first time, was...wow! Dungeoneer has a very S&S feel to it. So, I took a bunc...

Couple of Homebrew Magic Items

In the vein of "no more +1 swords and potions of healing," I think all my magic items will be based on the idea of a boon for a sacrifice. And any one-shot items are highly unstable. The Bleeding Axe Forged by the great hero-priest of Cherek, Vulsheim, the Bleeding Axe was carried into num...

Probably the PoL supps published by Goodman Games. What are they? http://www.goodman-games.com/4380preview.html http://www.goodman-games.com/4381preview.html Ha! Looks like they either hired the Bat in the Attic guy or they stole his style (like me). Players map example from POL: http://www.goodman...

Re: Updated Cleric Class

I had an odd thought while driving home yesterday -- Why have a Cleric class at all? Wizards use "patrons" and clerics use "gods." Potato Potaahto in my mind. Make a class called "Adept" or something less wishy-washy and have the adept choose a _Patron_ that grants the ...

"It's Joe Generic Man." he handed it to me and, yep... 9, 10, 11 down the line...then he said,"on the plus side, he can be anything he wants... he just won't be any good at it." I think players (and DM's) are spoiled a little bit by popular stat generation methods (4d6drop1, &qu...

Re: A blasphemous idea

I will also engage in blasphemy, but go even further -- instead of "prestige classes" why not a "class replacement" option that allows a character to take the abilities of another class as its "level." This would be after 5th level, of course. So, for instance, a halfli...

Re: Homebrew Patron w/unique spells & taints

These are fantastic. I was working on a similar system for a C&C conversion of Darklands (the old video game). Wizards/Witches had to treat with a patron to gain spells, etc. Since the game was set in the Holy Roman Empire (1300's I believe) I was going to use the Watchers as the patrons: http:/...

What do you use to produce something like this? Great maps. I don't have anything useful to add. Just really like the detail on these. *Envious*
