Re: "Fixing" DCC RPG
I agree that spellburn can break a game, especially if the players know that it is at the end of the adventure and they can rest in the off-time between adventures. I have referenced this before, but here is the link to the discussion on alternate spellburn rules that we use in my group. These were ...

Re: Experiences running Sailors on the Starless Sea (Spoiler
If they wipe then we can start over with another group of villagers going in search for the ones that never returned. And they can think about what happened and what they can differently. This will have them more than likely searching out areas they skipped over the last time and maybe finding some...

Re: Experiences running Sailors on the Starless Sea (Spoiler
I'm concerned that I've done something wrong, as they are simply not dying off like I expected them to.... jeff. No, my third group didn't lose too many...although I was running them through the 2nd printing of the module which has the additional "summoning pit" encounter added, which kil...

Re: Bonus to replace Spellburn option?
This old forum post by a friend of mine introduces house rules to make wizards and elves think twice about spellburning, but still keeping the option.

Re: Alternate Spellburn Actions
This definitely helps judges keep the players guessing and not just defaulting to spellburn on the final encounter.

Experiences running Sailors on the Starless Sea (Spoilers!)
I just finished running Sailors on the Starless Sea for the third time, with three different gaming groups. It is very interesting to see the approach that different groups take. Spoilers below: My first group investigated nearly everything in the keep (except the Well of Souls), had a two character...

Re: Bonus to replace Spellburn option?
I don't know...I have seen Spellburn in one shots lead to epic results. I will remember forever how I used spellburn at the end of The Arwich Grinder in a one-shot at GaryCon this year. Took out half the party, but won the day. It was great fun! I recommend leaving Spellburn intact.

They have been on a bit of a hiatus lately, but I was assured by some of the hosts who I saw at GaryCon...that it is not dead, and new episodes will be coming for sure.

Re: Gary Con?
GaryCon was epic for DCC fans...not only with the Lankhmar announcement and some other new product releases...but the gaming was awesome. I had a great time playing in the DCC tournament, and an awesome zero level funnel. Plus the pick up games after hours in the restaurant were fantastic!

Re: DCC Halfling only class that's worse than Basic D&D sour
I guess, I always felt the halfling in D&D was pretty lame. I never wanted to play them. I usually played a gnome instead. They just didn't have much that interested me. So when I got DCC, I was immediately impressed with the halfling class. In my view, it was "fixed" so that it is now...

Re: Thoughts on digest reprints...
I would like to say that I am immune to buying alternate covers to collect, unless there is additional new content...but then my stack of DCC core books with three different covers says otherwise...lol. But the gold foil cover eludes me still.

Re: Reader's guide to Lankhmar fiction
Thanks for compiling this! I hope to read some Lieber soon...not being familiar with his writing...but am curious now that DCC has a campaign setting for it! Again, look for the ones in red if you aren't planning on trying to plow through the whole series. That would mean you might focus your searc...

The supplemental material in Sailors...The Summoning Pits...is quite good. I plan on dropping that on my new group who is halfway through that module now.

Re: Available for Purchase?
I got the impression it was some modern people going into Lankhmar. IS that the case? No, it is a sourcebook for using Ningauble's Cave as a conduit around Lankhmar or for getting to and from Lankhmar from other dimensions/planets. It will allow you to add Lankhmar to your campaign if you like. It ...

I was wondering this too...I guess I assumed kickstarter backers would get PDF versions of the stretch goals and add-on adventures like they did with other kickstarters. Hopefully we can get a hold of them soon!

Re: DCC RPG Annual on the horizon?
There was no mention of the annual at last weekend's "What's new with Goodman Games" seminar at GaryCon...and there wasn't time to ask questions of Mr. Goodman due to another seminar starting. I would love to see it though.

Re: Thoughts on digest reprints...
I bought the digest reprints to get the new supplemental material. I love the new stuff...really enhances the modules. But instead of doing layout specifically for digest size (like the holiday modules were) they simply shrunk the text and compacted it into digest size. This makes it harder for my o...

Re: Luck Regenration
Awarded by the judge...but how that is done varies with whom you ask. I give out 1-2 points max at the end of an adventure (not session)...but that may be a bit light. Because I don't give much out, my players tend to hoard it. I have seen it given out at the end of sessions, and even mid-session fo...
