Re: From level 0 to level 1: more than one PC per player?

By the way, thanks for the feedback to those who have answered :)

Question for you, since most seem to allow multiple PCs per player: don't you think it's more difficult for players to role-play with multiple PCs per player?

Re: From level 0 to level 1: more than one PC per player?

Are we discussing players being too cautious, or players being passive as in not participating? Because playing cautiously seems as "right" as playing with temerity to me. I tend to have the story engage players that are more active because things will happen to them (not bad things, just ...

Re: Large mixed-level groups, fast combat, "Active Defense"

I'm in the full defense action = +2 to all defenses camp also. D&D 4E has it, it grants +2 to all defenses, and it's rarely used, if at all, because any other option is usually a better option. So I wouldn't be concerned that it would be too strong. I also like rules to be simple, and this one i...

Re: Anybody daring to swear he doesn't roll concealed? ;)

I always roll in the open, now. I used to roll behind a screen for years, but I've stopped. I even DM an online D&D game where we use offline dice rollers, and I haven't fudged a roll in 2 years of playing. I take 'em as they come. It takes some getting used to, I'll admit. But IMHO, it's for th...

From level 0 to level 1: more than one PC per player?

Hi everyone, We're set to start a new DCC campaign in August. Looking forward to it. I have a question: players each have a few level 0 PCs that they run through the level 0 funnel adventure. If more than one PC survives for a given player, do you let him carry on with all his PCs to level 1 where h...

Re: 0-Level PCs & Higher Level PCs

I have not had the experience you ask (playing level 0 with level 3-4), but I've had some experience with this in other game systems. My recommendation: bring back new PCs at a same level with the rest of the group, or near enough. Otherwise, it's a pain. If you need any support, think about it this...

Re: Three Things I Don't Love About DCC

I've only read the game rules and am yet to play, looks darn good! Can't wait to try the game out. What I don't love? 1) Most importantly, at first glance I feel there is a lack of material for the judge to readily use in his campaign. This includes monsters, magic items, spells (for players too). T...

Re: Three Things I Love about DCC

Howdy all!

I have read the rules, but am yet to play (short campaign starting in August). From what I read, I like:

1) 0-level funnel
2) magic is magical
3) each class has its own thing
