Re: Am I missing something?
I think you're on to the right path: it's so much cooler to create magic armor that is unique, fascinating, and fits your campaign. Perhaps the armor just helps against criticals, or reduces fumble die rolls. Or it can absorb any one hit a day with no damage but triggers a minor corruption that last...

Re: roll20 VTT Zero-Lvl Character Macro
Cool stuff, it's always good to have options on how to do these things! And I agree that offering 3-5 character sheets to choose from is a kindness that the brutality of the funnel more than compensates for... but I've had visitors to the party generator roll up over a hundred sheets in one sitting....

Yes, at this point it's in the printer's hands, and I'm waiting impatiently like the rest of you. The moment it is available I will give the word! And I've also vowed to get out of the prediction game when it comes to print availability dates. :) ('But', you retort, 'The Lair of the Mist Men is just...

Brand new babies limit the travel schedule. :) Please feel free to purchase DCC RPG materials at your local game store. And I am planning a Gen Con booth for 2013, so we will see you there! I'm seriously considering making it to Gen Con 2013 as well. My son is dying to wear a striking purple 'Purpl...

Yeah, my D14 is the most natural looking of the bunch, so one of those numbered 1-7 twice would make an excellent d7 for those who are put off by strange shapes.

Re: What do you use for a campaign?
Yeah, as much as I love creating world maps, for DCC I think the 'start with a village or city surrounded by white space and work your way out' really fits the vibe. (Which is another advantage of the 'wilderlands' style settings as you can just grab and introduce whatever you need from the setting ...

Soon.. Soon!
Scratching out time to finish it up with everything that the move has involved has been a bit more difficult than I imagined, but it's definitely coming within the week! (perhaps a couple days earlier if you'd like to play test!)

The print version of Ooze Pits is in the proof process, so hopefully (fingers crossed!) it will be available in about a week. (And the PDF of Lair of the Mist Men should go out at about the same time.)

In a word.....yoink! You should submit that to CRAWL! But also, 30+ should kill the guy who sprung it and damage everyone in 5' radishes. Thanks! beermotor, you are right, maybe 30+ should spread its damage around a bit more! Maybe a few more tweaks and I will submit it to CRAWL!. When it's all twe...

Re: Crits and fumbles are too frequent.
One thing I would have liked on the fumble tables would have been a larger range of non-effects. I have a custom d30 fumble table I made for D&D and 10 results have no adverse effect (just colour for describing the action). Basically this builds the "confirmation roll" in to the table...
