Forgive me as I preach to the choir: DCCs are NOT generic. They can fit into nearly any old school campaign, new school campaign, whatever campaign, but they aren't faceless, bland, lifeless wannabees. They have MORE life than most of the modules being published today because they aren't worried abo...

Give us Wilds, or give us Death!

Kidding about the death part. But if we can release Rat King, can't we do the same for the Wilds? Please?

Second the kudos to your artists. Well done!

Maybe one day we can have an "Art of the Dungeon Crawl Classics" book, collecting all the covers, and select interior art, along with some interviews with the artists behind the distinctive DCC looks.

Trance, I totally agree with you. It sucks to loose any PC. And I think your point was right ........... if Gygax had sent ol' Mordekainen through his modules, Mordy would have been morty. But still I'm an advocate for PCs running away. So often they just resolve to keep whacking at Monster X until ...

GM Rant: Style of Play

Lost some PCs last night to the War of the Witch Queen. They strode into what they thought was a corridor ............... and things went downhill from there in every sense of the word. An ounce of prevention could have saved them all. All the clues were there. (Room full of skeletons and magical eq...

IMHO This should be the first volume in a series. I'd love a collection of short adventures for levels 4-6 (expert), then 7-9 (companion) and 10-12 (masters!).

All the way up to Name Level.

DCC World

Just read the press release...... Wow! Some questions:

-is thisthe end of generic DCCs?!

-is this a compilation of the old adventures? like monsters and stuff?

-what other goodness can we look forward to?

Thank you for your time!

It's stupid, but I love em all. Can't be helped. But which is your favourite Dungeon Crawl Classic? And why?

(Board code would let me poll all of them so I have to make more threads.)

The rules aren't so different. You could always just use the old books and crib monster changes off of the SRD. But since all the DCCs list stats (thank you Goodman Games!), you don't even NEED to have the 3.5 monster manual to run a DCC.

Wow! Be sweet if Renshai got to write the world! But the DCCs are all about being generic (sorta). Wonder how that will translate into a setting. I hope the author (Renshai?!) leaves it open for development by the rest of us. I mean soem detail is good, but I want room to grow. A GenCon release make...

Any teasers for us common folk? Every DCC cover comes with a synopsis, so no harm in that, is there?

TPK

One of the great universals about the DCCs is the occasional chance of a total party kill. And from what I’ve heard about the tournaments, the situation is even worse (or better depending on whichside of the table you roll your dice.) IMHO this isn’t a terrible thing since the no DCC can hold a cand...

I second that! The back cover captures that moment of discovery --- through the snow, the PCs sight the crypts. AWESOME!

(Plus the subliminal skull/snow on rocks is really, really, really cool.)
