Didn't think of adding a birth augur. It's the same basic information as on the regular DCC sheet.
Yeah I wasn't sure why it was missing there too.

"I hit it with my axe!" must be some sort of default female position, cause that's roughly how my wife approached playing. :-) There's a whole slew of folks who would enjoy the hobby, from the Harry Potter-nerdy crowd to theater folks (my wife). It's funny that we're surprised, I guess we ...

Re: My Character Sheet Remix

I doubt GG would be upset w/ fan created content, so long as you're not trying to sell stuff and make money off their work. I like the sheet, but I've noticed nobody puts birth augur on there... any reason?

Even if the art is copyrighted, what you've done is probably fair use (so long as you aren't selling it).

So upload without fear, my friend.

Re: Anybody daring to swear he doesn't roll concealed? ;)

I used to be in a D&D 3e campaign for 1 and half years and one of the player always rolled his D20 "concealed" by opening a hard cover book and rolling on the first page and then hastily removing the dice and closing the book. I don't think he ever rolled below 15 (no one could really...

Re: Three Things I Don't Love About DCC

I don't have anything I really "dislike" about the game. I do have some concerns: 1- I wonder about the longevity of this game with my players. They are having a blast now, but I wonder when they are going to get bored with rolling up new characters. They don't expect to have indestructib...

Re: Limits to Spell Burn?

I think the issue is exactly as TND said (maybe inartfully, but I don't think so): people with strong ties to other games are looking for the rules to answer a particular question. But rules are by nature approximations (of "reality," essentially). A finite rulebook will never be able to a...

There's a game on this coming Sunday in Marietta area, but I won't be going (too far). I'm going to start up a game to run every other Thursday evening near Decatur, and we might be interested in adding a player or two. Let me know if you're in the area and looking for a game.

FYI, whenever I visit the page I get a 404 error on some header graphic/page. It's way more noticeable on my phone than on a desktop, but it's still there. On my phone it also tells me that there was a 404 on some error/default page that it looks for when something's not found.

Looking back at this, how are you rolling stats? because that's an awful lot of high numbers.

There's a few low ones, too, sure, but not as many, it doesn't seem. Loaded dice?

On the music idea, nothing says Lovecraftian horror to me quite like Morbid Angel, esp Altars of Madness (tracks 1-5 or 6), Blessed are the Sick ("Brainstorm"), Covenant ("God of Emptiness"), Domination (first couple tracks), and all of Formulas Fatal to the Flesh. The first trac...

Re: Encumbrance Houserules Meanderings

Think I'm going to go the easy route, and firstly be very stingy with item rewards, so it'll rarely come up, and secondly, do spot "what are you carrying and how are you carrying it" inquiries of random players. If they can't explain something, then some random piece(s) of gear will disapp...

Re: d16 for ability tests? Talk me out of this idea.

Actually, why not just skip rolls altogether? Door is heavy and takes 14+ strength to bash down. The brazier is large and awkward so you have to be taller than 5' and 15+ strength to pick it up a few inches and move it. The crowd is drunk and easily amused, and will be wildly entertained by personal...

I like the book, too. Font and artwork are particularly nice. Just a few typos I've noticed here and there, no big deal. Only way it could have been cooler: CLOTH COVERS. And that "old book / mildew / cigarette" smell... you know what I'm talking about, like it was stacked in a box in some...

Re: d16 for ability tests? Talk me out of this idea.

I'm with you on wanting something better than the DC system. At root, all systems are "You have an X % chance of success, roll." Rolling a D20 yields results in 5% increments D100 in 1% increments. Stats are generated on a bell curve, not a straight roll where you have an equal chance of e...

Re: Three Things I Don't Love About DCC

1 - Spell results are written out in most cases so that there is a lot of repeated word count between entries; I'd have preferred entries that were intentionally brief instead. For example, saying "as 12-13 except the damage is 1d4 + caster level" for the 14-17 result on the magic missile...

That's all well and good, but I also think the problem is with "healing." So, you have an abstract amalgam of endurance and luck and whatnot, but a cleric can cast "cure light WOUNDS" and "heal" you? Hmmf.

I'm not into any encumbrance rules. I just eyeball it and ask players to explain to me how they're carrying stuff. if they can't then they've got to drop something This is actually a good idea, I think. I just got my DCC book today and that's sort of what's written there. I guess what you have to d...

What I'm really after is a very realistic simulation with good crunch, but that plays fast and intuitive. THIS IS NOT IMPOSSIBLE, I BELIEVE I BELIEVE Heh. So yeah I'm interested in this mechanic. It seems that you are defining hit points as sort of what they originally were in OD&D: an abstracti...
