Re: Purple Planet Funnel, Campaign
Nurzual is able to open the compartment in the handle of the ray gun. Inside there is a third greenstone. A Beega reaches out towards the ship, the ship flies steadily away from the sun and towards him. The platform he is standing on must be the control system for the ship, knocked loose by Tio'Lizi...

Re: Purple Planet Funnel, Campaign
Next Turn Kelven runs for the stairway, not realizing that it is has crumbled and decayed. He falls into the darkness of the deck below, hitting his head on something unseen. He takes 2 damage and is knocked down. Havarth charges into the blinded eye beast, damaging it severely. Toby's massive stri...

Re: Purple Planet Funnel, Campaign
Did Beega see the ship in space, or was it just a tiny speck? I believe he is alone now in the room... so his next move would depend upon what his understanding of the situation was. Either way he's back on the pedestal, desperately looking for the ship, Arvis, anyone! Please have Beega roll a Perc...

Re: Purple Planet Funnel, Campaign
Next Turn As Beega steps off the pedestal, he finds himself back in the cavern. The ship is gone. His friends are gone, and the pedestal's humming seems somewhat diminished. The eye beast becomes less of a concern for the rest of you. Without the pedestal active, the ship begins to fall back toward...

Re: Purple Planet Funnel, Campaign
Ahh, I forgot to point something out: The last quality of the mushroom milk that Qort drank: He is immune (for the duration) to the weird sun's damaging rays. Everyone else who took sun damage has it until they are able to rest outside of the sun's influence. I'll have a map of the ship drawn up soo...

Re: Purple Planet Funnel, Campaign
Next Round Blackthorn, Duke, Nurzual, and Brandybland head into the castle. It's nearly pitch-black, aside from the dim starlight pouring in the entrance. It looks like it would have once been a fortress, but most of the hallways and stairwells are rubble-filled. There is one large archway that lea...

Re: Purple Planet Funnel, Campaign
Next Turn As Beega places a foot on the pedestal, he disappears from the room. Beega finds himself standing among the stars, a giant of titanic size. Before you lies a planet with purple skies, orbiting a sickly, green sun. As your attention wanders, the planet seems to shift slightly. You feel an ...

Re: Purple Planet Funnel, Campaign
Sorry about that. Life is crazy. Next Turn Since Fenris asked about the orientation of the ship, consider it to be "face up" coming out of the ground, with the castle halfway underground. There is a light coming from above the ship, perhaps from the surface. The dragon ornament travels up ...

Sorry for not updating. I was having some "academic difficulties" that led to me dropping out of my major (and hopefully picking up another one). Expect more Dungeon Crawling tonight.

Re: Purple Planet Funnel, Campaign
The Kith have never seen a Ythothian ship before, though they may have heard stories about them. Though it looks like a seafaring vessel, the Ythothians were famed for being able to sail the skies, and even to travel among the stars. The ship's current position seems to be the result of an accident ...

Re: Purple Planet Funnel, Campaign
Next Round The only action I have here that needs processing is Toby poking the constellations with his sword. If I'm missing something, remind me! You feel a change in the density of the air as your sword passes across the pedestal. Almost as if, in that one spot, all the air had been drained out ...

Re: Purple Planet Funnel, Campaign
So I think what I'll do is ditch hexes as a mapping system and just have "regions"--large areas you can explore that hold a lot more content that one hex could. That way it's easy to keep the group adventuring and knee-deep in the dungeon crawling :). I wanted at a maximum for everyone to ...

Re: Purple Planet Funnel, Campaign
A doughnut is a good analogy! It's a doughnut lying flat on the ground. The constellations are inside the doughnut hole. The ring of the doughnut is large enough that you could probably stand about eight people, arms extended, on it. I have to crank out some homework tonight. I will post the update ...

Re: Purple Planet Funnel, Campaign
(My bad. I just figured we were about to roll initiative. That thing sounded more dangerous and vicious than it was I guess) I was trying to bait-and-switch its danger level to provoke pity if you killed it. It was a risky move, but it kinda maybe paid off in the narrative? If you put your foot dow...

Re: Purple Planet Funnel, Campaign
It's easiest on me if you roll a to-hit / damage when you declare an attack. Otherwise my reptilian brain will latch onto a detail like "Oh he's keeping his distance" and read something as a poke when it should be a lunge! I only really believe in "narrative hits" when the target...

Blackthorn didn't roll, so I interpreted it more as a "fend off" maneuver and less of a "stab him in the face" maneuver.

Re: Purple Planet Funnel, Campaign
Next Round Tio-Lizix has been chained, weakened, without sunlight or water, surviving only on stolen time, for a thousand years. When Beega stabs him with the spear, his body gives out nearly immediately. The alien, for all his vitriol, had no fight left in him. In the bony floor that litters this ...

Arvis calls Beega to his side and hands him the meated spear, in so doing sidesteps toward the kith corpse minding Tio's reach. Pointing to the side of the creature opposite the corpse-blossom, says: Arvis:" Beega, kasta matnum við hann. Það. " Unwilling to potentially arm him, Beega toss...

Tio-Lizix smiles. "Yes. I know the way out. But you would never figure out how to use the ship without me. Without me, you are as trapped here as I am. [Of course, the Hag may have known of another exit. How else could she have lived so long on such meager meat? But she's DEAD.]" The mad n...

Tio-Lizix smiles at Arvis. "It is the ebon plant. The plant of death [the plant of life!]. I forced this brute to eat its seeds. And the plant. Has. Flourished. Each fruit you see here sustains me for ten years, each stolen from the poor [disgusting] creature. And yet, I've grown so hungry. It ...
