Re: The Revelation of Mulmo PBP - WARNING SPOILERS

Hamun Ry will position himself in the middle of the group, behind the General, but not at the rear. Just. in. case.

Re: The Secret of Bone Hill - L1 DCC conversion Play By Post

Okay, so what's the plan? Chendris is preparing to go back to the ruins, ostensibly to build an altar, but he lacks the required obsidian stone. Others are preparing to follow him for their own reasons. But maybe some detective work is in order for Senor Chendris first? Up to y'all what you want to ...

Re: The Revelation of Mulmo PBP - WARNING SPOILERS

Hamun Ry wheels his horse around. "I know the name of the one who speaks to me now. It is 'Mulmo.' Ring a bell with any of you?" Assuming not... "It spoke to me again, just now, and said that we must ride around the hill seven times, facing the hill from the east looking west [Daniel ...

Welcome Message

Hi there. This here's the Play-By-Post subforum. Welcome! Being older types, sometimes it's just easier for us to play in little snippets, when we can, throughout the day. It's not as fast as sitting at a table with your fellow smelly neckbeards (and their smelly spouses!), but it also has its own b...

So, to the hill!

We'll go and observe the hill from a safe distance, maybe 500 yards or more? Depends on how big it is and what the surrounding topography is like. Looking for entrances into the mound.

Re: The Revelation of Mulmo PBP - WARNING SPOILERS

Hamun Ry awakes in the night, and speaks aloud "yea, I will walk within." Otto snorts and starts. "Mast?" Hamun Ry glares at the simpleton. "Be silent." In the morning, when the rest of the party awakes and is eating breakfast, he will recount his dream. "Something...

Re: The Revelation of Mulmo PBP - WARNING SPOILERS

The secretive Warlock calls his occasional adventuring companions to his tower just outside of town for a meeting. His servant, the idiot Otto, ushers everyone into the Warlock's parlor. Some few minutes later, Hamun Ry descends a staircase and enters the room, his face set in his usual scowl, but h...

Re: Revelation of Mulmo PbP?

For Hamun Ry's ring, it should/could? be related to his Unholy House. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domdaniel

If he gets anything else on the random roll, preference would be for a magic bow or blade, or some sort of general book of lore/spellcraft.

Re: Revelation of Mulmo PbP?

Hamun Ry (it's pronounced "Qham'n REE") would have quested for something like a ring of limited invisibility (say, fixed number of turns/day), or something that would provide AC or other survivability features, since he's kinda squishy. Once you dole out non-mundane equipment, can we prett...

Re: Halflings, outside of Tolkien?

Willow.

DragonLance Kender are different, more like 3rd edition halflings than Tolkien hobbits.

I'm not very well read in the fantasy genre to know if like Shannara had halflings or not. Don't recall them from Eddings' books.

Re: The Secret of Bone Hill - L1 DCC conversion Play By Post

Spending a few months is probably a wise idea. It takes time to study, to reflect, to get mentally psyched up for the next harrowing adventure. At the gaming table last night, in Barrowmaze, one of my players said something to the effect of "you know, if this was real life, we would all be [rea...

Re: The Secret of Bone Hill - L1 DCC conversion Play By Post

You've never seen obsidian, so, no, it's not something you can just go get. :-) This will be a long term project. Ivory is easier to come by, there's a few elephants in the city for various labor tasks. Chendris, you could, if you choose, write Read Magic in your spellbook, and share that with someo...

Re: The Secret of Bone Hill - L1 DCC conversion Play By Post

Orastes, awesome. Epic levels of failure. :-) Chendris, your Patron teaches you the incantation to Read Magic. At least, you may attempt to learn it if you choose. By this time, your teeth have mostly all fallen out, and the palate is hardening above and also below on your mandible. It's very, very ...

And don't forget to role play! If Holy Father Pedro and Wee Man the Mighty have become some sort of nigh unstoppable duo, Bad Guys and Bad Guy Factions should take notice. Tempt them with evil (but powerful) artifacts. Or show them that you're OLD SCHOOL... sic some Grimtooth's Traps on em.
